If Adelaide don't bid on Ugle-Hagan with the first pick then they don't know what they are doing.
More the prestige of #1 being the one they wanted for the mantle without the bid factor always cast.

If Adelaide don't bid on Ugle-Hagan with the first pick then they don't know what they are doing.
Well, if they did bid, they'd no longer have the number 1 pick anyway. Do clubs need the publicity? He should be number 2, at least.More the prestige of #1 being the one they wanted for the mantle without the bid factor always cast.
First time theyve ever picked inside the top 5. Had the worst 3 years of any club.If Adelaide don't bid on Ugle-Hagan with the first pick then they don't know what they are doing.
Its different in SA.is it that important?
Everyone know that UH is the obvious pick and that WB will match.
So it is a free hit that forces a disadvantage (however minor) to you opposition. It would show their members that they actually know what they are doing. What happens if WB don't match?
If it was Carlton I would want them to use the #1 pick on UH just to make sure that WB have to cough up. #1 has so much pressure put on it.
Why would they bid on him at 1? Would be pointless. All that does is rob them of the publicity of taking a pick 1, and rob whoever they ended up with the opportunity of going number 1. Absolutely zero reason for them to do it and plenty of reasons not too.If Adelaide don't bid on Ugle-Hagan with the first pick then they don't know what they are doing.
Absolutely and IF bulldogs dont match then Adelaide end up with the best player.
I think that it is a great move. Takes the pressure off whoever they then take at pick 2. Ultimately you get the same playerWhy would they bid on him at 1? Would be pointless. Not pointless at all, I'd be more inclined to let natural justice stand than play a fake game of 'feel good' footy. The world knows that U.H would be the number 1 pick in an open draft and it at least gives their selection a chance to develop without the added pressure. Why would they bid on him at 1? Yep and have even done another pick swap today to get more points just in case. There is 0 chance they're not matching a bid.
I hope we throw in some bids on Rioli, Coleman and Gulden with our picks, if for no other reason than making other teams pay more, if they don’t match I’d be happy if we got Rioli, Coleman or Gulden at 31 or 38. We know SOS would I guess we will see how Austin rolls come draft day.If Crows rate JUH as the best talent, then they should bid
Yes but then you're also seen as taking the second best available talent and taking away the fanfare and benefits from the guy you eventually pick. 10k to the number 1 pick, plus media coverage, interviews, the flex of going number 1. I just can't see them doing it.I think that it is a great move. Takes the pressure off whoever they then take at pick 2. Ultimately you get the same player
The Crows have absolutely nothing to gain by bidding on JUH , All their picks will still be inside the next Doggies pickis it that important?

My thoughts exactly. I just see absolutely zero benefit of doing so, but plenty of reasons not too.The Crows have absolutely nothing to gain by bidding on JUH , All their picks will still be inside the next Doggies pick
But having the #1 pick for their club after finishing bottom would be so much better for their members and supporters as well as the goodwill it shows to the kid that he was always their #1 choice.
I wouldnt bid
That depends on if they actually rate another kid at #1. If they don't then the kid and everyone else will know they were just blowing smoke and UH was always going to be the preferred option. False goodwill could do more harm than good as it look like the club will dowhat the crowd wants, not what is in the best interest of the club. The Crows have absolutely nothing to gain by bidding on JUH , All their picks will still be inside the next Doggies pick

I wouldnt bid
