Review Cats keep 20+ year Crows drought at KP going with 26 point win.

Blitz had 16 disposals and Atkins 17 that's 2 more than Bruhn had. We don't need a 20 year old to rack up 30+ every week for them to be good for us.
It should also be noted that during our golden run last year, we hardly had anyone racking up any where near 30 possessions in any of those games. The flag was built on a team ethos where everyone was involved and as such high possession games were rare.

We are following that to a similar extent this year.

Good call. I think there’s a tendency to wish that ‘07 high-handball, high possession style of footy back in, where it isn’t actually feasible anymore. I’m happy with what we’re producing, considering the injuries, the youth, and the older players that we’re ‘carrying’ (who are still doing quite well, all things considered). Rather a champion team than a team of champions.

Front my little corner of the porch, today was so exciting as a cats fans. To see so much youth across the ground in key areas, genuinely influencing the contest was so exciting. Realistically the last few years when we introduce kids, they have come into a team of established vets who carry them to a dub. Today was the complete antitheses of that.
Of the youngsters my take aways:

-Holmes was probably our most influential player
-O.Henry kicking 1.3, which was a criminal reflection of how much he influenced the contest up forward. Directly responsible for at least 3 more goals.
  • Knevitt who was absolutely Influential over the entire 4 qtrs. Some strong contested marks, link play and big tackles.
  • and I’ll save the best for last, Bruhn. I know how many on this board have been slaying him (I.e warhorse etc).which I’ve found incredibly unfair given his age But his performance in the last qtr was game deciding, full stop. When the game was there to be won he stepped up and took control, (3 crucial clearances, tackles and the game sealing goal). If that can’t get you excited about that, then go stick a giant carrot up your doot, cause clearly the pessimistic lense can’t be shifted.
The future of this team was on display today with so many senior players out, and when the game was there to be won, it was our kids that influenced the contest.

Was that the Stewart free because that's when mine blew
The non HTB they let go not long before against Sholl, granted we got the ball anyway but I'd just had enough of his shit by that stage

I cant see them bringing anyone in off a 5 day break so whoever they hold out of the vfl team tomorrow is likely coming in friday unless dempsey goes into the 22 and someone like parf is sub (but he needs to be in the 22 or not at all imo he makes no structural sense as sub).
5 day break they can play a half of footy in the 2s

Danger hammy on the severe side. Won’t see him until after bye. And think they might be more conservative with him. Shades of 22 which isn’t a terrible omen. Get him right. Given him another mini preseason and have him come back and win player of the series.

In the meantime bring the young midfielders through
NOT on the severe side...?

Highlight of my day was my 11 year old boy getting to witness his old man blowing a gasket at that blonde **** umpring midway through the last quarter 😂😂
Let me guess the holding the ball against Atkins, also I reckon there was a 50mts against Ceglar today for time wasting in the way he returned the ball a little high back to the umpire you don't see that to often.

SDK I would think comes back soon , not sure on the others
SDK is after bye. Similar for Henry and Stanley. And now Danger

I think Rohan will be touch and go before or after bye. Same for Tyson

Guthrie might be earlier

So we have 4 games pre bye to show off the depth of the team. Which is exciting. And 3 of the 4 against bottom 8 teams.

If we hold on we will have a great position post bye with half a dozen “best 22” back available trying to push out the bottom six who I hope make it hard!

Pretty good shape of the season I think. Remembering we were 0-3

All the people that reckon Knivett was a bust.. He looks like he will be a player.
People expect all young players should be like Selwood, Judd, Daicos etc etc... let the kids take there time. There will be moments over the next 2 years Knevitt will play poor games, but let's judge him when his 23-24... give the kid time

Couple of observations from today.

- Its 2023 and they still can’t provide a solutions to mobile phone reception inside the ground. Get it sorted will ya.

- Got home to watch AFL highlights package. First voice I hear is Kellie Underwood. Put phone down and went to the garage to find something sharp to hammer into my genitals

- $23 for a dried out burger with chips and a drink. ...heinous level of offending

- Knevitt took some big steps. Anyone else think they see him as a Blicavs style utility? Good size

- Bruhn looked good in the last quarter but people need to chill. Had 13 touches and half would’ve been in the last Im guessing. So where was he for 3/4 of the match?

- And I’m leaving Ceglar for last. Not doubting his intent or will to compete but crikey ….. the game has passed blokes like him by.

- And outside of the Eagles I challenge any club to mount a case that they have a worse injury list to key players as the Cats do. Just have to manufacture wins against Richmond / and or Freo and we will have scrambled pretty well ….. 7-3 or 6-4 after 10 would be a great result.

Bloody hell that's bad news about Danger. Surely we get a few back soon?

Most wont be back until around the bye only rohan might be back in the next 1-2 weeks. This is why its good we hace henry bruhn and simpson.

Influential in that last quarter and has a bit of mongrel..my only concern is his size, in a world of of evolving midfield monsters

Size helps but by gee he makes up for it with his attack on the ball.

I think it is hilarious that some people have Bruhn in the votes. Perhaps Dangerfield wouldn't have got injured if we didnt have players like Bruhn playing who cant run out much more than 60% game time
