I'm still like "wtf did they take at half time? I WANT SOME!"

But I can't stop thinking about Pendlebury, surely we can't risk him, MM said so.

But here's mine.

INs: (IF FIT) Scott, Josh

Outs: Goldsack, Macaffer

You've got to be kidding with Macaffer. He got us back in the game in the second half.

Goldsack very good as well.

Out: LEIGH "THE ****ING DUD" BROWN - it is an embarrassment that this moron gets a game every week.

if goldy gets dropped id be disgusted, shouldnt have been dropped a few weeks ago.

I cant see too many changes, josh pendles included. Unless they are 100 percent they wont come in

Not sure about Pendles coming in yet... I doubt he'd be truly fit enough that soon, right? Surely not?

I was stoked to see the Caff perform on a big stage. He'll be in our side next year for sure. Sidey and the Sack, too.

Josh comes in if he's fit enough, but I'm not sure who to ommitt.

lol
It was a team effort that we got back into the game, but if your dividing the team up and choosing players that stood out the most, then I would say Sidebottom.
His decision making was clearly the best for us.
Macaffer kicked one important goal, then took a great mark, but missed the easy shot.
He did 2 things, and it's about experience mainly, he would be the first to be dropped.
Goldsack is and was good yes, but if scott gets up, he goes out unfortunately.

And Liegh Brown is crucial for us, you obviously don't understand much about the game if you think he's a dud.
And if he missed that goal we wouldn't be meeting Geelong next week, so a good effort by LEIGH "THE ****ING DUD" BROWN - it is an embarrassment that this moron gets a game every week

Being a neutral onlooker i would say

OUT: Medhurst,Brown
IN: Fraser,Pendelbury

Anyone agree?

i'm honestly not sure that i'd want fraser back in. fraser and wood in together hasnt seemed to work well lately, and at the moment i'd have wood in before fraser.

he's a better ruckman and a stronger mark.

the medhurst call is tough. his first half was shocking, but he did a few things in the 2nd half that were vital...

i doubt he'll be dropped but it wouldnt be the worst call..

as for fraser on second thoughts (regarding my post above) having him for leigh brown would be good.

pendlebury i doubt very much would play. 2 weeks for a fractured tibula is nowhere near enough. if we win the prelim he'll be a chance for the grand final and even that would be rushing him back in.

I agree with you 100%, he shouldn't of been dropped and he should of played against the Saints.
But Leigh Brown would play defence against Geelong, and if we have 8 defenders we won't kick enough goals to have a chance.
Also he wasn't outstanding tonight, didn't do enough.
But scott would have to get up to knock him out IMO.

Heard that Scott will be running by Monday, he wouldn't of lost much match fitness being only 3 weeks if he plays, it's more if there's any bruising when he starts running.

Does Medhurst deserve to be dropped? Is he doing enough to keep his spot in the team? His form has been poor for a while now, but because of how good he was last year he has slipped under the radar in terms of criticism. Our forward line looks like a genuine weakness at the moment and he is only really adding to that.

It would be a big statement to drop him, I know, but can we really afford to play guys who are so perilously out of form?

Sort of, Medhurst hasn't been amazing this season, but I think we're comparing 09 medhurst to 08 medhurst, and he hasn't been horrible, just now teams know to pay closer attention to him this season.

cant drop medhurst, hes that dangerous a forward in or out of form. Few kicks were going way over his head tonight but he still presented a lot and tackled and chased really hard. I dont think you can question his effort at all.

For meee as i said fraser pendles would have to be 100 percent to even be considered, if both were i dont know who to drop, maybe wellingham would be the unlucky one for pendles. Tough call glad im not picking the team

Also, I know I'm posting heaps, but I heard rumours of Lockyer retiring at years end from someone, and I am starting to see that it maybe true.
He has been played in stand-still positions this season, mainly up forward and sometimes down back.
That is a sign of a man's body giving way. Same as Buckley.
But still has the experience and skill to hold his spot.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if he called it quits.

I thought Goldy was very good tonight, one of our best especially in the first half.

If Pendles is fit (doubtful, i'd say no) then he comes in. I wouldn't bring Fraser in, pea heart.

Dawes would be the only one to possibly come in, not sure who i would drop for him though. Anthony possibly, but probably not after that last goal.

Gee some of you blokes are morons , stop bagging Leigh Brown. He is one of the ones that helped us win. Macaffer had around 18 possessions and was great too.

We are much more effective with Wood in the ruck.

Brown will not get dropped. MM loves him.
Pendles will not be fit and If we do make the big dance, he will still be doubtfull "Its a cracked Fibula".
i think it may be an unchanged line-up

Wellingham straight swap for Pendles if he does get up, although I'm doubtful. Wellingham was poor tonight, can't believe he got named in our best.
His kicking and decision making were just shit house. I'll have to rewatch the game, but he seems lost when he goes in at the bounce as well. More than once when he was in there, he didn't bother to take a man, which was Thompson when I looked, and both times Thompson took the balls out of the guts while Wellingham stood there flat footed.
I'm ranting now, but I was a fan initially of his, but he isn't cutting it at the top level. He doesn't work hard enough when he hasn't got the ball and doesn't make the right decisions when he does. I'd be surprised if he had a tackle tonight.

Medhurst was appalling again tonight, lazy and disinterested. Terrible performance from a former AA who needed to step up and show some experience/leadership in a young team. No more free passes on what he did last year, goneski. Beams to replace him hopefully, leaves us to use Caff and Dick in the rover forward position.
Really disappointing year for Medhurst after the ground he made up last year, gez I hope he works hard this preseason, he has a lot of work to do.

Brown was fumbley and pretty average again tonight, he offers some versatility and stability. He won't go out now, but next year Reid will take his spot and it was improve us immensely on a whole I believe.

I don't think Fraser will get up, but we'll have to wait and see I guess.

I've been a Fraser fan for as long as anyone, but Wood has officially gone past him as #1 ruck.

The only change I would make is Medders out for Beams, I would probably squeeze Fraser in as a forward and 2nd ruck option as we need 2 rucks vs Geelong - not sure who for though.

Goldsack out? You're seriously on drugs.
He was our best player in the first quarter BY A MILE and was easily in our best 4 for the night with Heath, Sidebottom and Harry. I was with 2 people watching the game and they both thought Goldy was BOG. So did I. You are seriously joking.

lmao @ you boys saying drop medders.

rewatch the game boys, he worked as hard, if not harder than most of our forwards.
He was unlucky with delivery not even getting near him multiple times.

If anyone is to be dropped on performance its Cloke. I know it's not gonna happen, but I'm just getting my point across that dropping Medders is as silly as dropping Cloke.
Based on performance of course.
Macaffer was good yes, but who honestly thinks that this team tonight have a chance against Geelong?

Sidebottom was outstanding tonight.
In the 3rd quarter, in the backline, being surrounded by crows, he had a quick look around and looped a handball over a crow to Lockyer, great decision making under that much pressure.

if we're talking form and not reputation, then leon davis would have to come under consideration. was woeful again tonight.

was also very disappointed with his chasing and tackling. in the 3rd quarter when the whole team lifted in intensity, his intensity was still lacking.

there was one incident where bernie vince got it on defensive side of the wing and davis was about 20 metres behind him.. davis jogged for the first 8-9 steps before deciding to sprint chase.. by the time vince kicked it he was probably about 60 out and davis was only about 5 metres short. had he started the sprint earlier when he should have, at worst vince would have had to rush his kick..

very poor pressure from davis.

I acknowledge he played well, but who would you drop for Josh and Scott?

It's a match up call you douche, Leigh Brown WILL play defence all day against Geelong, so having 8 defenders would be stupidity. I explained that already, so now it's your turn, pick your Ins mate.

And we will see what the match committee does.
I made my decision based on knowing that he would be the 8th defender vs Geelong, and therefore, unfortunately, dropped.

Can't defend against Geelong, we need to kick a score.
