Out: McCaffer
In: Dawes

Brown and Dawes can assist Wood in the ruck when required and will give us another marking option up forward.

Pendlebury in for Wellingham if by miracle he comes up.

OUT: Leigh Brown, Sharrod Wellingham
IN: Josh Fraser, Ben Reid/Nathan Brown

Leigh Brown just isn't up to it, yes he did kick that goal but besides that to many drop marks fumbles under pressure just useless slow and cant keep up with hes man. Nathan Brown is a much better asset to the team if fit who does a good job on Hawkins/Mooney. If Brown not fit put Reid into the team at CHB looked very good in the VFL and has been playing good football and can create good run down back similar to Sam Fisher or Sam Gilbert. Also can be a swing man down forward like Leigh Brown and is a much better option then Leigh up forward IMO.

Josh Fraser we need him in the side with Cameron Wood. Big call on Wellingham but i don't see anyone else going out for Fraser.

We need someone who can help us bog Geelong down in the midfield, to stop them kicking it directly to their forwards; someone who could stop that slippery wee Ablett getting the ball. Do we have one such available? Does one such exist? If not, give Wellingham a rest and bring in our best available tackler.

Nup, I'm slowly understanding how important Leigh Brown is for our team. He is not the best at any position but he CAN play in any position. We can chuck him down back or up forward and he at least attempts to provide a contest. Gotta keep him in... as much as i cringe every time he gets the ball!

Gotta take risks to win a flag, Mooney will destroy him this week.

Fraser probably has to come in if fit, Wood was smashed around the ground and Ottens might monster him.

Another decent marking target deep in the forward line might be handy (Dawes?), Medders was very ordinary and could make way IMHO.

Thought Goldsack was very good at times.

Wellers was also terrific and the Gaff stood up to be counted.

Honestly dont know why you would even entertain the idea of bringing Daws in. Has done good things here and there but never seems to be in games. Cant afford any passengers at the moment.

Beams must come in for Wellingham if he's fit
Very hard to say who would go out for Fraser -

I'm thinking that if Leon is injured as his recent form seems to suggest, i'd roll the dice and rest him. If he's injured he won't be much good and if we get through he'll be ready to go for the GF.

Don't reckon Wellingham is going anywhere - did a great job on Ablett when we belted them last year. Johnson will get first crack at GAJ but wouldn't be surprised to see Sharrod have a bit of time on him at some stage.

Honestly you are all getting caught up in Macaffers 1 goal.
His mark, which he missed the set shot, was very lucky and should of easily been spoiled, 99 out of 100 would of been spoiled.

Rewatch the match. That's about all he did, and he played forward all night.

He will be dropped if Josh or Scott get up, he is our least experienced.

I seriously suggest you rewatch the match. Macaffer was very clever the whole match. Composed in defence and up forward. He was directly responsible for getting clearing handpasses to space on numerous occasions getting us out of serious sh!t. He had 19 odd possessions and every one bar his miss for goal were pure silk. He and Sidebottom were the most impressive for us tonight - their silk really showed through. The Caff must stay!!!

Assuming Pendles is no chance the only players i'd be looking at introducing would be Fraser, Reid, Clarke or Beams. I say Reid only because I thought Brown was poor - bar that awesome shot at goal - most of the night but realistically we shouldn't throw Reid in until next year. I don't think we should play Fraser unless he is fully fit, which I don't think he is. I have faith in Wood. Beams and Clarke would have to be in contention for Wellinghams and Johnsons (harsh call) positions. Wellingham had lots of possessions but his decision making and skills were poor last night I thought.

I'd like to see:

INS - Beams, Clarke OUTS - Wellingham, Johnson

I'd go pending fitness
In: Fraser,Pendles, Beams
Out: L Brown, Wellingham, Medders,

In roughly that order.

If Fraser is fit he will come in and you can't justify dropping Wood.

Sharrord was poor and will go as a result. He worked hard in the third quater and was able to rack up a few and get some clearances but his decision making and his consistancy of effort were both terrible. If either of Beams or Pendles is fit his the first to go.

Medders will be the last out but his in line to go. Whether it be injury change in role or what have you his been unable to have any real impact on any match since Brisbane. I understand his a match winner but he hasn't been really involved in games at all this year and was besides Wellingham our worst. When his previous form has been average at best you can't really defend keeping him in the side. If it's a niggle rest him for a week, if it's form hopefully he gets some confidence in the two's and can reclaim his spot.

Macaffer was great last night all night. Worked had stepped up and there is no need for 2 medium lead up fowards so he should keep the spot over Medhurst.

As for the Jack Anthony bashing I was so glad to see him get the chance and kick that goal, reward for effort IMO was up against it all night, worked hard, presented contested, scrapped, really fought hard and was punching above his weight divison.

Apologies for being off topic, but just in case no one gives Presti a plug for his game last night coz Tippett kicked 4 on him (John Ralph gave Tippett 1 vote). I reckon Presti all but shut him down. Tippett had 4 kicks & 4 handballs. Three of his 4 kicks came from frees, 2 were right in front and I think Maxwell gave them away. The other (late in the last) was Presti and as Malthouse & Quartermain both said was dodgy.

Given the amount of inside 50's the Crows had, Presti's return on my Accept-o-meter was up there.

Surely by now everyone should have realised that L.Brown is an important part of our team and shouldn't be dropped and won't be dropped.

As for the ins and outs I'd go.

In: Fraser

Out: Wellers

Fraser comes in to ruck, Leigh Brown goes back into defense. Beams comes in if fit. Pendles as well though unlikely.

Out would have to go - Wellingham, Medhurst (saddens me to say it, especially as he is so important in spreading Geelong's defense, but isn't playing well enough to keep his spot), and gees, Goldsack? How unfortunate would that be.

B: Toovey - L. Brown - Maxwell
HB: Shaw - Prestigiacomo - O'Brien
C: Lockyer - O'Bree - Johnson
HF: Didak - Cloke - Thomas
F: Dick - Anthony - Macaffer
FL: Wood - Swan - Davis
INT: Sidebottom - Clarke - Goldsack - Fraser

L. Brown on Hawkins
Presti on Mooney

Clarke in - need his run (may get job on Ablett)
Fraser in - Support in ruck and stints in forward line

Wellingham out - lacks hardness
Medhurst out - can't carry players

no change.
medhurst can win you a game, worked hard delivery terrible.
Leigh Brown could take Mooney, hawkins & ottens if they are in teh forward line, will highly doubt he will get dropped.
May need Wellingham's run at some stage this saturday night
Fraser not 100% Physically & mentally lacks agression would prefer wood who looks to enjoy a contest.
No change Peoples

No argument here from me, but the way hes played in the last few weeks he cannot be in the team. The delivery wasn't great, but on one or more occasion he didn't jump for marks and waited for the drop. He also had a brain freeze and passed off to dick in the pocket when he was 30m out.

What we needed against the crows was an extra forward that was going to make a contest and not rely on Anthony.

Doubt that Fraser and Pendles will make it. One change for me.

In: Dawes
Out: Medhurst

Dawes can simply not be considered. He has been for most parts a passanger at AFL level and Medhurst will provide more. If Medhurst is to be dropped it will only be to make space for Fraser, Beams or Pendles.

If we are carrying anyone in the team at the moment then it is definitely Wellingham. He loses his man at every contest and will lose a 50/50 every time...against Geelong he would be the worst selection we could go with in the middle.

Beams to come in (if fit) otherwise bring in either Clarke, Macarthy, or Stanley.

Pendles will not be right this week.

I'm torn on Wellingham, he's very hot and cold during the game. Does some good things, but does some horrible things too. I'd probably prefer Beams who seems to eat the pressure up.

The only omission I can think of for Fraser is Goldsack, but his pressure will be vital against the Cats.

I'll just leave it to the selection team.

I thought Wellingham was a huge contributor in the 1/2 half turn-around with his ability to find space with his quick leg speed. I think the huge spaces on the MCG suits his game style and I think he should probably play.

I would envisage that the Cats will be providing more than 38 tackles (Crows on sat night) this weekend. I would expect a more tougher man-on-man contest so its should be interesting tussle.
