The only change might be Goldy for Xerri, plus whoever doesn't recover well enough.

Out of the box... Corr for Xerri and stick with no ruck (jk).
Corr for a small defender is a must to give us at least 2 kpd to help logue and bonar in the air ensuring the ball gets out the back less

Phillips will be the interesting one to see if we can reshuffle the team to fit him in, eg push powell more out to a wing

People need stop judging Bonar until he gets the opportunity to play on someone his own size. The poor bloke has to play as the 2nd key back and we kept the two of them to what 3 goals?

Give him a break ffs

If he is picked to play on KPFs then he has to be judged on that role.

If you play players like Ziebell, McDonald, Sheezel, Goater and Bergman down back and the opposition is playing 3 KPFs then you are picking Bonar to play on a KPF. I don't think he should be. It can't be doing anything positive for his confidence to be getting murdered by KPFs.

How many did his opponent kick on him?

A lot of people missed Bonar outmarking Liam Ryan.

The same Liam Ryan who was tying Luke McDonald's balls in a knot everytime they were in the same contest.

I'm expecting a win this weekend and you all should too and here's why.

If you look at Freo's stats for last year, if you were to remove entirety of results of round 7 last year, it show's Freo's biggest weakness. Without Freo's big win over North (102 to 24), Freo is moved from the 7th worst scoring side to the 4th worst scoring side of last year, but still strong defensively, moving from 2nd to 3rd best in scores against. Basically, their team isn't built around high scoring, but stopping the opposition from scoring.

Ross Lyon knew this going into round 1, as he was part of it design and knew while he wasn't going to be able to score high against them with team he had. If he could just prevent them from scoring however, and just get every goal they could fight for then they win. You think Clarkson hasn't seen this glaring issue in Freo too? North's defensive structure was fantastic this week, against a West Coast team I feel was truly underrated and will prove so with a strong week against GWS.

This is why Freo moved Fyfe forward and brought in Jackson, to fill the huge hole they have going forward, but obviously with like of Schultz and Taberner, they haven't exactly clicked yet and it going to take some time to get the ball running.

Game strategy this week, keep an undersized backline.
Goldie comes in to do the centre square ruck and then move behind the ball leaving Greenwood to do the around the ground again.

That way we keep the same amount of run from the back half, same amount of pressure around the ball.

I like the idea of keeping run and pressure high, but Greenwood around the ground versus a 1 gamer like Bailey Williams is an altogether different proposition to Greenwood versus Sean Darcy.

At a guess I'd say Chomben to chop out for Goldy in the ruck, Greenwood to just be part of the midfield rotation rather than be a recognized ruckman as Darcy and Jackson will destroy him, Turner to play on either Clark or Young, and God knows what defensive setup. Just really really hope Corr comes in, cos otherwise Amiss/Treacy will kill us, and if that's not North all over then I don't know what is

The main issue is that Fremantle's defensive unit is so good alongside our offense still being poor means they could legitimately win by scoring 50 points.

I won't be surprised by a win this week.

Perhaps but I wouldn't be surprised if we pop up with a win.

Hopefully Clarko will harness the positive energy from last week and tap into the emotion of the passing of Ron Joseph to pull one out of the box.

you are like Chicken Little the sky is falling….
Sts beat Freo with at least 6 good players out

freo have lost Lobb and Logue

and we at least look like a footy team

you are a North supporter, like the team show some backbone

I feel like in order to be competitive we need to at least win the clearance battle. No way we beat them off the turnover.

Last year we won centre clearances 10 vs 8 and lost stoppage clearances 21 vs 39 and contested possession was 128 vs 129 but we got annihilated because we turned the ball over at will. We just got annihilated in the middle. Greenwood only had 15 disposals for 77m gained. LDU 23 disposals for 133m, it was pretty bad across the board. Anyone outside of the backline who made any ground had a poor kicking efficiency, was just turnover city.

They have a really good back six, if we lob junk high hang time inside 50s we will need our forwards to play a blinder to score. That junk type of delivery only saw us with 32 inside 50s vs 67 and we only managed to score 24 points, it was an embarrassing brand of footy.

We had a lot of soft/undersized players around the ball last year, we had Scott, Taylor, Stephenson, Thomas, etc around the ball and Jy had to play on someone almost 20kg heavier than him. Nobody stood out individually, we didn't gel as a team. We were much improved last week but we also had Cunnington, Phillips and Powell last week, some will pot Phillips for not having a good game, outside of some of his errors I thought he was more effective than Cunners was, had surer hands with the ground ball.

I think we have a better balance in the middle to be more physically competitive and Mundy is a huge loss for them. They will want to bounce back after that loss to Saints so we aren't going to get them taking the game easy.

How about that kick late in the game straight to 3 eagles players, that was awesome
How about the nine tackles and all the times they fumbled or turned the ball over cos of his presence and perceived pressure?

Moving Cheezels forward for 5 minutes a quarter should fix that.

Saints beat Freo with a defensive master in the coach's box and on home turf.

Freo in Perth looking to respond after a bad loss is an entirely different proposition.

It's great that Clarko's instilling belief, but belief takes time to build. As a fan of the team that's won the last two wooden spoons, I can only apologise for being realistic about the factors that will likely influence this game's result

Sure man
maybe apologise for the drivel you posted on their board
