Perhaps the game day analysis of Marshall should be a stand alone thread.

Hell excited about the prelim.. Thought I’d jump on this site to be with other excited people but instead a million pages on which way Marshall was gonna kick the ball in a game 3 weeks ago….. Cool…

So who do we actually want to win tonight and do we have a preference who we face?

I completely cannot split the dogs and lions.

Both can be amazing on their day and both have had some very average weeks.

The dogs midfield can be scary if they have a day out while the lions have a potent forward line and can score in very quick bursts.

All I hope for is they bash eachother like crazy tonight and we can feast on the scraps next week.

i would prefer to play the dogs, but getting revenge on brisbane for the game earlier this year would also be lovely.

I think if I had to pick I’d say dogs only cos lions seem to have the wool over us lately.. But if were good enough we will beat anyone!

I'd prefer to play the Lions, because if I have to watch us play against Cody Weightman and the rest of the ducking cheats in that side in a prelim, I'm going to have a rage induced heart attack.

If Brisbane win tonight, who goes to Cameron?

Houston is way too slow, as is Jonas. Not sure DBJ is suited to being the 1 out last deep defender. Burton? Possible but I worry he could ping a hammy. Has the best skillset of our incumbent defenders imo.

The left field option is Lachie Jones. Usually I wouldn't be in favour of a 1st year player getting such a big role, but it's clear he doesn't get overawed by big occasions, he's super quick and has the kind of size to worry Cameron 1 on 1.

Not saying I would do it, but you'd have to at least consider it at the selection meeting.

It’s an interesting idea, but I reckon Burton would get the job

Burton 100%. Has the pace and strength to go with Cameron. Jones is even more likely to ping a hammy atm, long term I agree he would be perfect but not for a few year. Cameron is a match winner, we can’t risk a 1st year player on him even if Jones came into the team which he isn’t. Burton all the way, same for Weightman and Fritsch.

Would be a premiership for the ages this year.

We would need to be 3 finals wins over 3 x 25-man Victorian teams.
Geelong, Bulldogs, Melbourne.

Late Edit: 26 man teams actually, forgot the medical sub for concussion that will no doubt still play next week.

Yeah it's started already head knock what bullshit
As someone who managed to concuss herself early this week, head injuries are nothing to be messed with. 36 hours later I started to lose hearing in my right ear and I have been left with severe vertigo. Scary stuff and it should be taken seriously even if you have to miss a prelim.
