We really shouldn't underestimate how important Maxwell is. Not just in terms of what he does, but what he allows the likes of Shaw and O'Brien to do. He isn't on their injury list but was subbed out last week when the game was still in the balance, be good for us if he was underdone a little.

I hope they play him.

A. Because he would be under done
B. Because i can't rate him.

Out - Lack of tags
In - Tag on Harry O

Was the difference between Collingwood winning and WC winning by 5 goals earlier in the year

Hopefully Kennedy will be back and he's always good for a chase down tackle or two per game - but then again he's going to be too busy making up for lost time and kicking twelve goals! :D

Some other differences from that game (from what I can tell):

This time Collingwood will have Pendlebury, Tarrant and Didak available.
Mitch Brown, Brad Sheppard and Jacob Brennan all played for us. Tom Swift was sub.
Will Schofield, Andrew Embley, Adam Selwood, Sam Butler, and the previously mentioned Josh Kennedy didn't play.

Picture for fun (what with this being the last home game of the year and all).

Those five would be handy ins. Swap A Selwood or Butler (if Selwood comes up) with Dick and that would be super exciting!

Can you WA guys tell me what the weather forecast is for Sat night please
Sunny and fine on Saturday around 22 degrees so you rest assured the night will be ideal for footy.

So maxwell and jolly out? That's a big plus for us, two KP structural players.

I personally don't rate Maxwell, as far as the top 8 goes, I think he is the worst captain skill wise, might just be me, but every time I watch him he fails to find targets from HB. As for this weekend, we are up against the most talented midfield in the comp. The game is going to be lost there if we don't step it up this weekend.

Hopefully Woosha will assign someone to tag Swan and prevent him from running around doing as he pleases?

No one should rate Maxwell on simply his footballing ability, but rather the leadership and organisation of the backline as a unit. That's why he is captain. If it was simply on skill and ability he probably wouldn't have been best 22 in the past.

I personally think Beams is the danger man right now, but you don't want to leave Swan unmanned either. Pendlebury was poor last week, so I hope he is having a Priddis month. Either way, its going to be difficult.

They didn't tag anyone in the last match IIRC. I don't think it turned out that bad for us, yes we lost, but it was a small margin and could have gone either way in the last minute.

I really don't think it is possible to effectively tag Swan anyway, the way Collingwood rotate off the bench, it is hard to keep track of what is happening out there. Just go head to head and lets see what we can do.:thumbsu:

Mostly this, it's his coordination and understanding of the collingwood gameplan that helps them win with Maxwell in the side.

Cliff's notes from Woosha's press conference (via Twitter, I'm not actually at the presser):
- Kennedy expected to play
- Rosa and Selwood both available
- Dick "a real chance"

Plus this:

Scott Pendlebury just sent a scare through the Magpie camp. Went down at training clutching outside of right knee. Up and moving now.

Was a tweet from someone at collingwood training that pendlebury was down clutching his right knee, he got up though and was moving around. Was that the knee he did earlier in the year?

Im sure I heard during the North game that one of the commentators said that he has been "managing" his knee for a while now (ie carrying a slight injury). I can't remember who said it or at what point in the match but it was definately said.

Darcy and BT were the commentators.
