Was there any word on Rioli after he went off in the last few minutes?

Simmo said in the presser that they've gotten away without injury but he was extremely cagey and said he's been burned every time he said that this season.

Clark named for the Beagles tomorrow. Could be a chance if he has a good one?

I know he'll be underdone but unlike Yeo and Shuey at least his injury hasn't prevented him running.

If he has a good game no doubt he'll be in contention, plenty of dead wood needs replacing after yesterday's effort.

Allen coming straight back in is exactly the same bullshit trap the MC just fell for with Cripps, Shuey, Yeo and Kelly.

He can go run around in the WAFL for mine. Hasn't played in forever.

As for the others, it's too late to kick them out now and Simmo's not dropping anyone from that group anyway, so i'll save my breath.

IN: McGovern, SPS, Strnadica
OUT: Edwards, Nelson, Williams

I'm not a Nelson hater, but i'm not entirely sure what role he's playing at the moment. Defensive mid or something. Had 11 touches, 2 tackles.

Nelson is not a great defender but is much better than Rotham and Foley as he actually has a go. Rotham has gone backwards after looking like a good prospect while Foley has never been better than an average player who does the odd good thing. On current form, you should NEVER play them both in the same team. It’s funny how we complaied for years about our recruitment of H B flankers and yet now there seems to be a shortage of them. With Hurn looking cooked, Shep gone, Cole injured we are left with only Duggan and to a lesser degree, Witherden to show any attack from the backline. maybe it’s time to move either Shuey or Yea back to get some drive

Nelson is a turnover king.

Nelson, Foley, Rotham, H.Edwards = not AFL standard. Add to that L.Edwards, West, Cole, O'Neill.....

Maybe one of those guys ends up making it.

It doesn't matter who we shuffle around, we're careening towards bottom 4.

Any word on how Bazzo is doing?

Cole is a certainty if fit.takes the game on.HEdwards will be ok,still a young KPP
West at the very least is a good back up mid
Nelson i dont mind as a back up with some versatility
O'Neil has had 1 good game.wouldve been nice for him to be able to build on that or been shown up as a one off

Oh, my sweet summer child. He doesn’t have the credits.

Versatility is a polite way of saying not very good at any position so we keep shuffling him around in the hope he is competent at something….8 years and counting

I don’t see much point in complaining that players are selected on reputation not performance, and then naming changes before the reserves have had a chance to perform.

But…
Strnadica could play himself into a debut today, because Williams was pretty poor.
Kennedy could possibly use a rest after three games in 12 days.
Having brought in all the underdone guys, no sense in dropping any of them now.
I’m not at all convinced Rotham is in our best 22.
Gov for Rotham is a definite possibility if we think we can play all of Gov, Barrass and Edwards in the same backline against a Port side that’ll be missing Dixon. They’re still fairly tall with Finlayson, Georgiades and Marshall.

For me - These are the changes I want. (* Beagles pending)

Out - Darling (Omitted), Rotham (Omitted), Langdon (omitted) Williams (Omitted), Edwards (Omitted)
In - Allen, McGovern,
Strnadica, XON, Waterman

FB: L Duggan, T Barrass, L Foley
HB: E Yeo, J McGovern, A Witherden
C: P Naish, X O’Neill , T Kelly
HF: J Jones, O Allen, J Cripps
FF: J Waterman, J Kennedy, L Ryan

R: L Strnadica , L Shuey, W Rioli

I: H Dixon , J Nelson, J Petruccelle, J Redden

For me rotham is a bust.

I'd drop rotham and play yeo in the backline.

Simmo has shown he wont drop stars so its unlikely darling will be dropped.

Out: rotham, jones, Hedwards
In: gov, clark, XON

ROTATE shuey and kelly of HFF.

A but harsh on Cole there as he's played in a premiership side and has been part of our side for sometime up until his injury and also LEdwards is still very young as too soon to judge imo. Possibly O'Neill as well as he's never been given much of a chance to play in his preferred position - ie midfield - up until last week anyway - as more often than not he gets plonked on the HFF. Anyway the whole list needs a revamp - some possibly need to retire as they are cooked - and others need to be delisted for those who look like not making it - mind you I do believe our development of players has also not been up to speed for very difficult to know if you will make it if you're not given much of a chance due to Simmo always selecting those who have credits in the bank!

Half our list are very marginal AFL players. They should be moved on if they are not a strong contributor after 3 seasons. Obvious exception i super tales and Bolt pace whic we have Bolt of.

Our list management, tallent identificaion and development is very poor and the Swns showed us how a good organisation handles it, with a depleted team that was YOUNGER than ours. I strongly suspect this is a club management is a major issue.

There was a passage of play last night where Sydney had the ball on the city side wing and there was one free Sydney player about 60m out near the boundary, really the only obvious free Swan for the ball to be kicked to and Rotham was the closest to him. Barrass and Witherden had got back as the deep defenders and had space covered for whatever was coming ahead and Rotham, instead of going to the obvious free player he decides to run into a empty pocket with no Sydney player in sight. I don’t know if that’s coaching or what but jeez surely you’re not told to avoid the attacking teams only obvious player by which to attack through as though theyve got herpes. Of course, herpes man was able to receive an easy, uncontested mark and set up an easy goal.

Rotham is absolutely lost out there at the moment, he needs to go back to the two’s for his own good.

Need a translator app for this.

Out: Witherden (a lot would disagree, IMO he gets alot of the ball but is a big liability on the defensive end), Nelson (gives us nothing), Edwards

In: ONeill, West/Gaff, McGovern

So many other players that deserved to be dropped (Rotham, Williams etc.) but can't drop the whole team.
