Tendonopathy is not great. It’s basically another word for tendinitis.

Chronic inflammation of the tendon. Will be out for a while, medium to long term.

He could be our LTI candidate.
Yeah, so another player who starts to show some form trying to cement a spot gets a med-long term injury.
This week, please, NO INJURIES!

From the press conference

• Ryan plays WAFL
• Sheed a chance but will be sub if he plays
• Jamieson has “tendonopathy” whatever that is and will be out for a while. No time frame given as to what a while means
• When asked about Gaff the answer indicated he’ll be staying in the WAFL until availability becomes an issue
• Mentioned synergy with a grin saying it’s important to get players playing in the same positions each week

Based on that I think it’ll be a straight swap of Sheed for Edwards with Maric going into the 22 and Sheed being the sub

Darcy in for Freo but no backflips
Those answers from Simmo are a real step in the right direction. Hasn't buckled to the temptation to bring in a possibly underdone returning star, and has flagged that another who... dare I say has a lot of credits will be left in the WAFL until we don't have a choice. Admittedly our availability is better than it has been in some time this year but I think we have seen in the past some similar situations play out another way.

Darcy looked sluggish in the preseason match after an interrupted preseason. We all know he needs a few games under his belt to be playing well with his zero fitness base. I think we might do a bit better than we think in the midfield now kelly/reid/yeo and bbw have clicked

Jackson forward will be a tough match up rotham will have his wok cut out. I like the idea of gov on treacy as he'll take gov up the ground allowing him to intercept. Tb for amiss is OK

Schultz switta and Freddy are big outs for freo we have always struggled with there foot speed, if yeo and co bring beast mode this games gonna be a cracker

Sheeda/flyin not ready do not bring them in

Oh well was hoping Ryan would've played the derby
Me too, but a good thing they didn't play him - great to see they sticking to their 'work back through the Wafl program' and not hurrying like last season - good to have the luxury of depth.
Curious to see how much impact Sheed has?

So the three emergencies are Gaff, Jones and Johnston

Johnston was the travelling emergency for the Bulldogs game 3 weeks ago

Jones had his turn 2 weeks ago when we played Sydney

Both those guys need game time, particularly Johnston, so that leaves Gaff to be this weeks non- playing emergency

Unless they decide to run the risk of having no late outs and play all three emergencies

So Sheed has not much of a pre season, comes back and has two underwhelming games in the WAFL and rather than let him stay in the WAFL until his fitness builds up and he shows some form we put him straight back into the side.

The concern is that he's too much of an athlete rather than footballer. Some of his decision making at times makes me wonder if he actually has a brain at all. A name will only get you so far in this caper.

Turns out also a cross code star, can’t wait until his main focus is footy.

You are just as whiney as your namesake.

His coach called his game “terrific” on the weekend?

His coach called his game “terrific” on the weekend?

The week before he played reduced minutes, had few touches and butchered the ball multiple times.

Unless you are an absolute A grader i don't think you should be walking back into the side after 2 games in the WAFL when you have missed the pre season. Sheed is a defensively liability at the best of times because he is lazy and doesn't want to run both ways, let alone now when his fitness base will be well below what it normally is. He will cost us goals with his opponent running off him at will.

If you think he should he is such a great player that he should be picked regardless of his lack of fitness then state that and make a case for it.
