Imo McInnes should be training as a key forward
He is a bit too tall to be an inside midfielder without getting injured and he also is slow as hell
Strengths = Acceleration

You don't have to be fast to play inside midfielder (see T Adams).
You do need to have fast hands.

"REEF McInnes was gone like the wind.
So quick was the Oakleigh Chargers prospect at last month's NAB AFL Draft Combine testing, he was actually made to repeat his rapid effort in the 20m sprint to ensure there wasn't an issue with the official's timer.
McInnes, eligible to join Collingwood as part of its Next Generation Academy at the NAB AFL Draft on December 9, posted a speedy time of just 2.779 seconds. It was by far the quickest of any draft prospect tested across the country this season."

So just no to your comment "slow as hell".

Chugg should play. Worth seeing what the kid has. Is he worse than Tyler Brown and can he offer something new? We're not a high disposal team, too. So add five to those statistics when compared to the Doggies.

Height's not really as much of an issue in AFL like people make it out to be. Obviously, height is a factor but there are players who are short and tall who can make a difference.

We have shorter people playing at FB/HB, small forwards, etc who are short but are constantly degraded because of height. Daniel's draft profile is equal to that of first rounders that I've seen EXCEPT for a number he can't help (2014 Draft Profile: Caleb Daniel). Like, big whoop if you're short. It's all relative and I'd say a lack of height is sometimes an asset. Mason Cox is not that agile compared to Kozzie Pickett who is. It's how you play people, not just height alone.

As for being too tall, same argument applies. Being tall can be really useful in the mid as it helps you break away and use your body to advantage. And we see this with the growing size of athletes. 185cm is common for a midfielder now but it wasn't in the 1970s. Being six foot won't get you to being a key forward like it use to. So everything is relative. As humans continue to increase in size, our players at positions will, too. McInnes is of a generation where there is more mobility at the 190+ height. Is 190 a tall forward now? No. It's common. Tall forwards are 197cm+ in my books, but 194-196cm are impacted that much.

Maybe we need to stop stereotyping and stop obsessing over a number none of us can control and instead shift attention to skills and training people to their best ability.

Be gentle on him quicky, he has some great attributes like speed and power and runs his guts out both ways

That may be so but at that moment that hasn't translated to form on the field. It's an odd selection decision.

And this weeks token WTF selection goes to Chugg! Congrats to McRae and Co for keeping Buckley’s tradition alive with the weekly Bianco/ Brown x2 and now Chugg mind duckery of 2022.
If Chugg was debuting wouldn’t have it been announced by our media team already with an accompanying video of his teammates clapping?

In saying given the selection patterns this year this seams spot on. I’d prefer Chugg over Tyler atm though.

I don't think he will play but it's good recognition for his hard work

If we beat the Hawks I'll believe we are a genuine chance for the eight. They have had it over us for decades and with their ins as well as being on the rebound from a bad loss I feel that pattern is going to continue. I was more confident about beating the Blues than I am about knocking off the Hawks.
