Taranto is essentially a full time mid this season. Comparing numbers with him is disingenuous at best.

That is just incorrect. Taranto probably plays same midfield time as DeGoey. It is a good comparison, though as much as I have spoken down DeGoey, I would prefer him over Taranto. Taranto is a very poor field kick. DeGoeys field kicking is far more damaging.

Jarrod Wade and his crew clearly have the runs on the board to back the decision in on JDG if the decision is to play him. But I’m not sure why you’d risk him even if there is a little doubt about his fitness, his importance to us this year is too big and north aren’t even VFL standard so would be perfect to be on the side of caution

Because there’s also match fitness to consider.

So you don’t like him and you’re using one below par performance as an excuse to drop him for a 0 gamer.

Yeah, he’s ‘gone missing’ so many times this year that he’s averaging 20 disposals and a goal per game. 2 players in the entire league including himself can boast those numbers. Even in his ‘abysmal’ performance against GC (in which none of our mids performed particularly well) he led the team for clearances.

Not much between the two? One is a proven performer and a game breaker on his day at AFL level. The other has had a couple of decent, but not spectacular VFL games.

Instead of pretending to be balanced and trying to say you want him dropped on performance, call it for what it is and just say “I don’t like him, I want him gone”. At least then you won’t be making a fool of yourself.

Can you do some actual research before posting? Nick Martin averages over 20 disposals a game and a goal a game. Should he win the rising star then? Martin, Neale, Petracca, Dunkley, Parker, Gresham and Cripps are all around the same per goal average or better and have equal or better disposal numbers.

De Goey hasn't been a very active forward. 12 goals is hardly outstanding even for a part-time forward. Nowhere near as damaging as what some make him out to be. 4 goals once a season is a fluke - Cal Brown GWS did it on the weekend.

A couple of BOG's a year and more than a handful of MIA's is NOT star material.

No way! If Howe or Murphy got hurt in game you'd put Checkers back before you'd consider Kelly as sub.
