More quality from the Hun:
AFL:: The Crows have been dealt a double blow ahead of its clash with North Melbourne, with Darcy Moore ruled out and Jordan De Goey in doubt.

So you'd have Grundy on the third line, below JDG and Crisp!

If redoing the contracts now, probably 4th line.

But I'm not one of you TGG. I don't think it's that big a deal. Most clubs could point to wasting $300,000 on one contract. That bloke on $500,000 who didn't get on the park, (how much did we lose on Ben Reid's contracts, Shaz's contracts). That other bloke on good money who didn't improve or regressed and became a battler, etc...

Not a fan of MS debuts. Major achievement in a players career should be treated with more respect.
Bucks did that with McCreery. I don't get the sense that Fly who is a fan of giving players the opportunity, would do that to players.

Genuinely stoked to see JC getting a chance against NMFC...

... but equally sad that he does so because of an injury to JDG.

Hope JC performs well and that JDG gets back soon. Would be lovely to have them both in the 22 and firing at the same time!
If JDG is to miss 3 weeks, his CV for the back half of the season is going to look pretty thin to prospective employers. He'll take a while to find touch on return.

So Will Kelly’s papers have to be stamped at this point right?

If he can’t get a game in a side with literally no tall KP players left due to injury, then he’s obviously never getting a game.
I think Kelly leaves at the end of the season. Talented, but never got a chance to show us what he is. Three players at a minimum have to leave, but I suspect more. Could be four or five. We may have a retirement and a trade/FA leave but someone will be delisted and right now, Kelly looks vulnerable and so does Cal Brown.

IMHO Taranto is just a bit better than “a couple of decent, but not spectacular VFL games”.
He is. I somehow got mixed up between this and another of his posts that compared Carmichael to JDG.

Good that he'll get a couple of games. If Nth don't pull their finger out we'll learn as much from his debut as can be learnt from match sim at training.

I remember about 6 weeks ago there was no depth in midfield at all. With the arrival of Carmichael, and the improvement in form of Macrae, it's nice to be having a debate about how/when we can fit them in. I wonder if the recruitment of Carmichael is getting the best out of Macrae. A friendly rivalry.

Be even better next year if N Daicos moves into the midfield next year. He could be the rolls royce in there, with the likes of Adams, Crisp and the big bodies of Carmichael and DeGoey ( should he stay), to look after him. Hopefully too, Macrae, with another pre-season under his belt, gets to be a regular in the midfield next year, so I think we are looking ok in the midfield.
If JDG does leave, then a Taranto or Bruhn would be good fits. I know we're into Bobby Hill, and if we do land him, like to see him run through the midfield too, whilst playing forward, similar to the way Bolton is used at Richmond. Don't think Pendles plays much midfield next year.

Yeah really bad timing for him and for us as the next few are must win if we want to position to have a dip in the finals.

Daicos - Rolls Royce / Quality & Class.
Crisp - Landcruiser / Hardworking & Reliable.
DeGoey - Maserati / Flashy, expensive and spends most of it's time at the Garage. Poor man's Ferarri.
Adams - Ford Maverick / Bush Basher.
Carmichael - What can he be?
