Hoskin-Elliott out before Lipinski is madness! As is moving Markov to the sub!
Fresh legs isn't his strength. He's a bad choice for the sub, running all game is his best moveDespite the fresh legs WHE had 1 possession in the final quarter.
I wouldn't be getting to carried away.
Opportunity to manage Nick Daicos. Give him a rest before a full run at the back end of the year/finals
Carlton only took 10 marks inside 50 to our 18 (Freo took 12 a couple of weeks ago). We just missed a bunch of our shots and theirs were supplemented by free kicks, at least 5.With how poor he's been as a defender, it would be negligent to not look at it. His complete lack of run and inability to effect marking contests killed us with him in the defensive half.
Need him to play for my Brownlow bet. Just kidding! No, actually….

It was marking contests up the field in transition where he hurt us. Or, by getting burnt by Martin at ground levelCarlton only took 10 marks inside 50 to our 18 (Freo took 12 a couple of weeks ago). We just missed a bunch of our shots and theirs were supplemented by free kicks, at least 5.
A ruck can compete and not give away stupid frees to non-rucks inside defensive fifty. It was a comically bad performance. It's VFL time.Cox was on the ground for total of 39 minutes ! What can a lumbering ruckmand do in that time ? Cameron was on for 102 minutes !
I think Cameron's form has been strong and tonight very good again. Won the hit outs and took 5 marks.Coxy goes through bad patches that are very bad. His form comes and goes very quickly when he is not 1st ruck. I wouldn’t be worried if Cameron was injured and Cox was 1st ruck but at the moment neither are really doing a lot. Yes I’m a Cox fan and will always stick up for him but AJ must come in.
Not especially fair to expect him to compete with Martin at ground level. If that was his actual matchup, doesn't seem a good one.It was marking contests up the field in transition where he hurt us. Or, by getting burnt by Martin at ground level
I'd much rather we used 'Throw Howe forward as a curveball' as that move rather than Moore. Glad that we now know it's a viable late-game option. We're not going to play Howe as a permanent forward. It was just a late positional change that worked because Carlton didn't expect it. Exact same thing happened with Moore a year or two ago against Brisbane or West Coast
Nice sarcasm and all but if he's struggling in the backline he'll struggle a lot more in the forward lineYeah, its not worth looking at a 33yo who kicked 3 goals as a forward, rather than keeping him down back where game clearly gone past him back there.
Agree re Crisp - we need his gut running and link up play. Has been under utilised.Out: Lipinski, Cox, Titch
In: Frampton, Hill, AJ
Sub: Howe
Murphy, Frampton, Maynard
Noble, Moore, IQ
Jaicos, Naicos, Sidebottom
Elliot, McStay, Mihocek
Beau, AJ, WHE
Cameron, Pendles, JDG
Hill, Adams, Markov, Crisp
I think we need to move Crisp to the modified and swap him with Naicos.
Not tonight he didn’t, he was our highest goal scorer and he was playing forward for 1 quarter.Nice sarcasm and all but if he's struggling in the backline he'll struggle a lot more in the forward line
McStay gave away a free infringing in the ruck inside their forward 50 arc just as I predicted. It happens whenever undersized non rucks are asked to do the job and it can be a very dangerous ploy given the way smaller men infringe at throw ins and ball ups.OUT: Cox, Lipinski, Mitchell (slowness)
IN: AJ, Hill (speed/x-factor)
Sub: Frampton
B: Howe - Moore - Quaynor
HB: Maynard - Murphy - Crisp
C: Sidebottom - Pendlebury - J. Daicos
HF: Hill - Mihocek - N. Daicos
F: Elliot - McStay - Johnson
R: Cameron - Adams - De Goey
INT: Noble, McCreery, Hoskin-Elliot, Markov
SUB: Frampton
•DC main ruck
•AJ third tall/second ruck
•Nick plays Lippa role swapping with Adams
•Frampton can get subbed in if we want a second ruck or at FB if we want to swap Howe forward

Very good. Totally agree.Lipinski fan but enough is enough. Cox dismal again. Both of them out please.
In: Frampton, Hill
B: Brayden Maynard - Billy Frampton - Nathan Murphy
HB: Isaac Quaynor - Darcy Moore - John Noble
C: Josh Daicos - Tom Mitchell - Steele Sidebottom
HF: Beau McCreery - Brody Mihocek - Bobby Hill
F: Jamie Elliott - Dan McStay - Jeremy Howe
R: Darcy Cameron - Nick Daicos - Jordan De Goey
I: Scott Pendlebury - Jack Crisp - Oleg Markov - Will Hoskin-Elliott
Sub: Taylor Adams
We cannot go into a finals campaign with McStay or AJ as the second ruck. That would be diabolical. If Cox has to go (even temporarily) then Frampton should be the replacement. Our forward line worked better with Mihocek alone with mid and small forwards around him.
Cox should be dropped and McStay and Cameron share the ruck.
Howe needs to go forward, he’s a liability down back and has been for ages.
Carlton really go us in the coaches box, man on man contested game, there was always a Carlton player with in a metre of ours. They pressed up and covered every single runner and sweated on our handball game.
We need to learn a huge lesson out of this because they just showed the rest how to beat us.
