Adams frustrates me. Feel like he burns so many thrusts forward.

Never a fan of a midfielder plugging up a forward spot. He doesn’t have the knack up forward.

Yeah but in a big final you know he will put his head over it. I think he stays in the role..

When I suggested Frampton for Cox I meant literally. Frampton forward pinch hitting in the ruck, not as a defender.

Frampton very mediocre as a forward… and already have two big bodies up there in mihocek, mcstay plus potential for Johnson/Howe as that 3rd forward who can find space… then Elliot. That’s a lot of marking power up front

Frampton as a defender who pinch hits is a no brainer for mine.

Need the additional size and defensive cover down back too vs teams who have more than one dangerous tall

I don’t see the point in playing both Adams and Mitchell and then having one of them not in the centre working clearances

Pick one and then bring in a quick like Harrison for the additional run and carry

Pies looked slow last night

They cut through us, they didn't burn us off. Speed is not the worry, work rate and discipline was last night.

Will never doubt his commitment. I just doubt him playing as a forward. Has kicked some goals this year. His field kicking is sub par. On top of his decision making also being average at times. I’m fine with JDG , Pendles and Naicos resting up forward. Not tay

I agree. Need that pace. Or a natural forward to come in.

I’d feel cheated if Tay gets squeezed out next year and we lose Fin. Flag changes that opinion of course.

We should be looking for mids to play a core group of years with Nick and build chemistry.

Yeah agreed, hopefully in big finals he realises he needs to take first option and not think he is Pendles or Naicos. He can hit good inside 50 kicks when he doesn't have to think too much. Just instinct.

I don't think we need to throw everything out, but Cox and Lipinski were two of our worst over a two week period, so based on that they would have to be under threat.

If Lipinski is going to play so outside and with zero physicality then he needs to not fumble and he needs to use the ball really well. He is fumbling and using the ball poorly at the moment. I think bringing him in without VFL form was a mistake. Go let him have 35 in the VFL and get his touch back.

Naicos is a superstar but I think the full time midfield move and being tagged has also exhausted him. He was poor last night and short stepped way too many contests. Asking too much of a second year, lightly framed player. I'd like him to play all over the ground, but to start forward next week.

Out: Cox, Lipinski
In: Hill, Frampton

Howe forward, Crisp mid. Daicos forward. Pendles sub.

Def: Moore, Frampton, Murphy, Quaynor, Maynard, Noble, Markov

Mid: Cameron, DeGoey, Adams, Mitchell, Crisp, Sidebottom, Jaicos

Fwd: McStay, Mihocek, Howe, Elliott, McReery, Hill, Naicos, WHE

Sub: Pendles
I was with you until Pendles being made the sub. We lose too much midfield organisation without him. I'd be tempted to make Adams the sub

Opportunity to manage Nick Daicos. Give him a rest before a full run at the back end of the year/finals
100% or move him back to half back for the next couple of games and let him just be Nick Daicos.
Clubs have put a lot of work into him of late, removing him out of the midfield for a period might ease some of the hype/pressure he is having to deal with.

We need a plan B when we are being manned up and stopping our slingshot from HB.
Yep, Fly definitely outcoached last night, especially after multiple failed attempts to clear the back half lead to Carlton goals. Kick ins are crucial and it is an obvious move to swing Nick back if he isn't impacting the centre clearance.

Strangely, Nick was not being tagged, but looked like he was intentionally playing close to his man in the centre square.

Mistakes were made in selection. Clearly too tall up forward and Adams isn't the solution in the forward line.

Cox for Frampton
Lipinski for Hill/Ginni

B: Moore/Murph/Frampton/IQ/Noble/Bruzzy
M: Cameron/Pendles/JDG/Josh/Steele/Titch
F: Checkers/McStay/Billy/Hill or Ginni/Beau/Nick
I: Howe/Adams/Markov/Crisp
S: WHE

Adams/Titch rotating in and under
Frampton helping in ruck
Howe helping down back or forward
Nick plays anywhere depending on matchup
Markov/Crisp rotate with kids/wings

What’s extreme about my changes?

I don’t think subjecting Nick to a hard tag from McInnes is smart, so a perfect time to rest him.

I also think when he comes back in he has to play down back in place of noble.
Nick will be tagged for the rest of the year now. Noble is a long way off being dropped. We had a bad night, players were down and it's a very long season.
