The Geelong game makes our best 23 selection more difficult. Ginnivan looked good, but hard to fit in when we're fully fit. Lipinski played his best in the middle but with Nick and Sidey back its more difficult to play him there. Like the run and aerial effort provided by Hosk, but again will struggle to fit into our best team. Howe is promising forward, but does this rule out a resting ruck forward? Positive for Frampton as the defence/ruck.

I don't think our best 23 players make our best team. We are too slow and aerially challenged in some areas. Will be a difficult balance.
Players need to play where it’s best for the TEAM, rather than the PLAYER.
So, if it means that Lipinski plays centre, Sidebottom wing and Daicos half back, so be it.

I still think its just Sidebottom for Moore, Hosk to be the sub.

You then have Moore and Daicos returning for finals, with a really strong squad of 25 to pick from (26 if you subscribe to the Cox>Cameron theory). Hosk is the easy one to drop, however the final player to miss out and the sub selection will be extremely tough calls.

I hope Ginni plays well, because I suspect he will have a short leash. Markov has been excellent however I could see him missing out/being the sub when Daicos returns.

Agree, Markov has been good, but if we need to choose two of Noble, Markov, WHE, I'd go for Noble And Hosk. There's a point of difference there that we don't get with Markov. Though we may not even be able to fit two of these into our 23, very tough to fit them into the 22.

That was my first time thought. But then if we are keeping Howe forward maybe Ryan comes in with Moore out and frampton and Murphy the KPD
Yep, extra defender could be needed even if Noble's in. Ryan would be a surprise as you'd think Ruscoe is next cab, also has the extra height. Looking like Gunston could miss for Lions, but still have a big forward line. Guess a debut is another way to add extra energy, but there are also other reasons a player could sit the last Q of VFL.

Because I'm not gonna let a few score involvements in one game cloud me from seeing how he has performed over the course of the season?

I've been defending Lipinski from the mob too this season and even I'm coming around on the idea that he probably needs a break

Do you spin a wheel to identify which player(s) you'll target each week?

So, you are happy to see McStay at centre bounces against Daniher who is their back up ruckman or even Oscar? Our mids are already struggling enough at the centre bounces. Both of them will simply grab the pill and boot it fifty metres deep into their forward line.

If we could finish the season by beating Lions and Bombers that's strong form to take into finals (mostly from beating Brisbane). Beating Brisbane does open the possibility of playing them in the QF.

Would take a win in either game though. Even losing both wouldn't be a disaster. With a pre finals bye I don't think momentum is so important, we've seen what happens to form after the half season bye.

Most important is to get through these last two games without losing too many players to injury or suspension.

Will be interesting if we pick our team a bit differently with Melbourne losing. I am not one for resting players but at Marvel would be looking at possibly Jordy and Noble out and even give Sidey an extra week off. Only need 3 players to come in , one as sub so not major changes.

Losing to them would also mean opening the possibility of playing them in the QF...at the Gabba.
Really important for us to win this game to:
a) Guarantee a home final against whoever
b) Let Brisbane know we have their measure
