Some interesting suggestions on here, Tommy A and Scully? Really? We would need about 10 injuries.

Hard to pin those goals on Sweet mate
Nah usually you'd be right as Sweet (as our rucks I guess are generally instructed to do) drops back behind play, but two of Marshall's marks i50 Sweet was his direct opponent.

Darcy bong-cones out
Why do we persist?
Years of rubbish
Just not a smart player

Put him back in defense or specialised sub and get games into one of the younger blokes or Williams/Evans as a 1-2 goal smaller forward while Peps not available.

Give Boak a few weeks off over the next 6 weeks to freshen up if finals are any consideration, otherwise play him, and Dixon when available, then send them on their way at Years end.

I'd almost start Aliir or Rat on a wing, then goes back, ruck moves forward and the half forward or half back covers the wing, which I think would be a good McEntee, Houston, Farrell or Narkle role.

Ken was upset because Jed wasn't picked.

We're a tall forward too many - so one of them out for Rioli.

Narkle played the McEntee role much better than McEntee, so leave him in for a few weeks to see if can do it. Not as sub.

Boak out injured, or if he's not, move him to sub. Either way, give Lorenz a full game.

Jones out injured - settle Bergman in defence. He seems to play a bit wing and a bit HB every game. Give him a clearer role.

Sweet was up against a spud for 3/4 and Marshall for 1/4.

Can play Sweet but I'd play Dante.

We get more out of exposing Dante to quality opposition for a couple of games until Soldo gets back.
Why is this a foregone conclusion?

His last two games were absolute trash - he's not a walk up start for me. Sweet has shown enough to hold his spot until Soldo does something in the SANFL. Marshall kicked 3, but as someone stated above, 2 weren't his fault at all.

Boak needs to go and also retire. He is an absolute liability these days. He will think he can go on next year though.
So who are you bringing in? Aside from Lorenz who looked ok with limited time, nobody else has put their hand up.
Boak had a poor game, but he's been decent for the season. I don't think he has another season in him, but I think he's still best 22 at the moment.

10 from now or 10 total?

Cos like,

SPP
Burton
T. Marshall?
Burgoyne
McKenzie
Soldo
Dixon (susp)
Ratugolea
Jones?

9 experienced AFL players missing atm.

I'd rather have a look at Scully and Anastasopoulos rather than what? Reverting to McEntee, F. Evans, Williams or even Clurey for the umpteenth time?

I would argue that starting Lorenz is not a great idea in a game where we are likely to be dominated and Stinkers will look for scapegoats. I'd like to see him sub with a bit more game time, then starting the week after. I think that would be better for him in the long run. btw I liked what he did v St Kilda.

So Sweets entire game is a flop for his very capable opponent scoring 2 goals? I’m not sold on Sweet but find it staggering how quickly a few on here are piling on. Logan Evans was written off even before he played an afl game!
I know McEntees extended run has many of us questioning the selections (and rightly so) but to call a player a spud this early in his port Adelaide career??

I’d like to see how Lorenz stands up under pressure at afl level as he’s been one of the few shining lights in our sanfl team that is regularly flogged. From what I’ve seen of him, he’s not only skilled and composed but really competitive.
I also liked what he did v st Kilda. 👍

If Jackson performs well over next few games, perhaps he would be an option?

Yes good to get Lorenz in , he’s only light at present but didn’t mind getting in and under , we need to get new wingers and half forwards in , hard runners .
I think Mead is doing enough at the moment to stay in but Jackson needs to push himself now to put pressure on the selectors and be ready to go if a spot opens up
