Wow, so glad they named all three ruckman less than 24 hours ago. That wasn't completely pointless at all.
As I said yesterday I think you will find the point is that they can have them as emergencies and so not have to play 3 rucks in a do or die SANFL last round.

Keeping the SANFL team alive is important for the AFL teams prep and depth.

What a load of horseshit. If he applied any decent amount of pressure, he'd be able to make an impact as well.
SPP is elite. Rioli very good. DBJ Good.
McEntee wtf
I'll concede the word 'elite' for McEntee's forward pressure was getting a bit carried away. But it's very good. Call that what ya like, idgaf.

He has re-invented himself as a pressure forward where as McEntee has played every game.
I'm not arguing that he should have played every game. Selection is on Ken and the selection committee (if you think it's an issue and want to direct your ire in the appropriate place). I'm saying the hate for McEntee is far from justified.

There’s a lot of options there to give players a run before the big stuff starts.
I’d wouldn’t get over excited about Williams being the sub for this game.
I think we will win no matter how we line up unless we throw the match.

I'm not really a Jed hater anymore but I wonder how it is that he's become an absolute 100% rolled gold best 22 inclusion.. like why

If fantapants leg hasn't fallen off, why not play him in a free hit against Richmond and see if he's capable of making it through a game

That's the big question.

Do we really want to be bringing a player in, who hasn't played ...what ... (all year?) for such an important game now? Players need to be in the groove of playing with each other.

It was a good call, definitely looking likely Teakle will be emergency which would be perfect. Must let Evans play SANFL.

Sorry, not quite with you on that one?

You don't want a home final?? It's important AF.

Our record at home is not very good, though qualifying finals have been ok.

I think Kenny has instilled a mental weakness in this team which is extremely uncomfortable with the favourites tag, and we're therefore better having a "free hit" as underdogs away.

Who knows maybe we win and it instills real belief and momentum..

126th is pretty solid for pressure acts.

His goals, tackles and pressure acts are almost the same as DBJ's, and ya don't see all the hate for him.

Yes, that's the DBJ who spent the first month of the season in defence and has been subbed on or off twice. And yet DBJ still leads him in all of those categories. And DBJ's not even that good!

What? You don't know how emergencies work?

I know how emergencies work. I'm saying that if Hayes doesn't get up, for example, then only one of Teakle or Visentini is going to come in.
Unless of course we're dealing with multiple talls under an injury cloud.

I'm starting to get really irrationally (or rationally?) angry at Mcentee being in. There is absolutely zero empirical evidence to justify his position. The way he gets treated over anyone else on the list is outrageous. Chad Cornes is a ******* dickhead.
Can you imagine being Francis Evans after the Showdown getting told you were dropped for a 4 goal game while McEntee stays in? How could that possibly not be terrible for morale?

I posted some stats in the general AFL thread the other day. Home finals - excluding the grand final - right across the league for the past decade are no better than a coin flip. It's a myth that they're important.
