Is that avalanche for real or a technical illusion? If it is for real how many people were killed? Looks worse than Hillsborough 1989.

Zero person was harmed in that stadium during an avalanche, and the supporters did it for years.

I've been in a few. I usually watched games in a different section, but every once and a while I would go there just for the fun.

A humorous sport journo did a report on it in 2011. It's in Portuguese, but it's possible to understand it regardless. He went with Go Pro camera:

---

P.S.: In the new stadium, many were harmed in the first try. It has been forbidden ever since.

I'm assuming the naming of Teakle and Visentini is insurance in case Hayes doesn't come up for this game, and I suspect one of them will play for the Maggies.

Ala Ford Fairlane I'm not opposed to two ruckmen in the 22 for the finals, as if eg Haye's shoulder was further damaged particularly early in the game, either of the two named above or even Lycett should be more effective than Finlayson.

Yep, Caroline Wilson said today that Dixon won't make it to the first final (I believe McKensie will) Lycett obvs playing in the Maggies this weekend. If Dixon isn't playing I imagine they're having a look whether Vincintini and Hayes can work together or maybe Bin Tickle up forward? Who knows, I'm just thankfull that we now suddenly have 3 blokes over 195 cms that we can trial against Richmond. Better than three Sam Grays.

Yes, one of our talls is suspect.
Marshall has has been playing injured, maybe give him the two week break.
More likely that are waiting to see if Dante is fit (to take the good Lord's place).

Re marathon. Eventually found the city council web site and it would appear that roads around AO will reopen at 10.30 am. However be prepared!
The part of the course around the Adelaide Oval is at the 5km point and the 26km point in the run. Even the slower marathon runners should be through on their second lap by 10:30 AM, and if they're not they've been instructed that they'll have to run on the footpath until they get past War Memorial Drive.

The AFL putting the game on at noon is really frustrating for people running the marathon who also go to the football. My dad is running the marathon and will probably miss the first quarter or half of the game due to the ridiculous midday start time, reckons he might just turn up to the game in his running gear because he won't have time to go home first.

If it's likely Dixon will miss the first final, using this chance to try a Hayes/Visentini combo is good business.

They've persisted with Lord as the third tall, which is very un-Hinkley. But he hasn't grabbed the spot for finals.

Worth a look at what a second ruck-forward looks like. Glass half-full situation, while we may go in without Dixon, if effective it may also convince the coaches to go into a final without a half-injured Lycett too.

Match committee been reading too much BigFooty trade threads and have been convinced that quantity = quality

Maybe they listed Teakle as an “emergency” hold him back for the afl team and not select him and therefore cant spud it up for either the afl or sanfl

smart player management imo 😉

im playing fantasia, as long as he buys on to the team defense, lets see if he can get through a game and then recover like a normal afl footballer and train all sessions the following week, we just cant take a risk on him in a final unless he can at least do that
We don’t play him this week and under no circumstances do we play him in a final

Just no

Lycett is my preferred option if he is fit. As he is playing in the Port Magpies this week I assume he is close to fit.

Marshall has been shyt for a while now, am going to give him the benefit of doubt and say his injured.
Give him the fortnight off, we are going to need all up and running as much as we can for that first final.

All these comments about Narkle not getting a run.
He’s done ok when selected but he’s no Jed McEntee…..

Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com
He made his debut in Round 14 and has kicked as many goals as McEntee since then. Only difference is Narkle has played two and a half games and McEntee has played nine.

I think the comments around McEntee are way overcooked.

When we first saw McEntee I used to think "oh great - another heckin' vanilla short player with no discernable upside" and made comments like "the only reason he's in the side is that he has Ken in his name".

But watching him over the months - his forward pressure really is elite , very good - and after all, our whole gameplan is build around forward pressure. Add to that he has pretty good hands and good goalsense. I'm on the lonely McEntee wagon. Interested to see how history judges.

We have a brace of other players in the forward line who are pretty good at applying forward pressure.
Where common attributes include having a hyphenated name DBJ & SPP standing up in the tackle and knowing where the sticks are.

Ask yourself, what other team would play McEntee in every game?
