As I am currently on LSL I had indulged in some afternoon pool beers - geez did I find some "special supporters" on the AFC FB site - apparently it's all about continuity for the team?!!?!?!

I have been rather vigilant on McHenry's continued selection that caused some kickback from Nanna Elsie and her band of friends!!

My main gripe currently is ROB over Strachan - ROB has become worse each week and is actually a liability - Strachan was more than servicable in the games he played infact he offered so much more than the current ROB, an yet he can't get a game over a guy who would be the worse first choice ruck in the AFL currently.

Sounds like the Crows Pride Forum on Facebook.

I was told on there once that I should go and barrack for Port because I called the Crows supporters, who stand up and clap the players off the field after they've played like shit, an embarrassment.

Some clown on FB last night defence of Ned being selected was "have you ever seen a player go in so hard and play with so much passion"?

Just farken ridiculous. Do they test for any of these traits at the draft combine?..............I wonder why

His actual footballing skills are non-existent as you have highlighted, but some people just don't get it.
Well he better stay in the side this week because I have tipped him to kick a goal in the goal kicking comp

I had numerous fans tell me I had no idea about football last night - I was a little forthright after consuming some Bintangs but thought overall I was measured.
I had one guy actually photo shop the statistics of the Collingwood game to suit his argument about ROB!!!!

Probably that bunch of oldies that turned up at Adelaide Airport a few seasons ago and sang the Crows song as the Swans players were disembarking, I think it was for a final. It was truly cringe worthy stuff - and we lost the game!

AFC Facebook site, you could imagine what types would be on there, the see no evil knitted rug and thermos brigade, and there would be plenty of manipulation and bogus posting of positive stuff by the AFC PR Dept.

The number of debuts argument "We made X amount this year so we don't have the numbers to make them this year" is largely a distraction \IMO.

Yes, we're (or I am) frustrated we haven't debuted Newchurch or Taylor but we're also frustrated that guys that were supposed to be our future have suddenly been relegated. We're frustrated that Cook and Scholl have been dumped and not considered for the last 3 months, that Worell can play the consistent football they keep preaching they want but not be considered, that we have options sitting in the SANFL to allow Dawson to play the more attacking role we supposedly recruited him for, but we've got coaches who are so god damn scared we'd rather have Dawson play away from where he can be the most dangerous because they can stomach putting another young player in. All the while this is happening we've got the coaches and admin coming out saying everything is rosy, the rebuild is on track, the SANFL team is proof of that, but then talking out the other side of their mouth with "Well, their SANFL form hasn't demanded selection" all the while certain players have to do the bare minimum to earn a recall after being dropped.

26 players. We've cut our list down to about 26 players that we will consider, a team that is 5-12, third from the bottom on the ladder and doesn't have a hell of a lot to play for says there is only 26 players we want to play. It's absolutely ridiculous. The club has basically fallen so low that we're expected to applaud them off the ground for just trying during a game, which is the bare minimum any side should be putting out.

We haven’t fallen at all. It’s been a selectable group of about 26 players for years. If you aren’t in the group by the time the practice games start then you’re not getting there no matter how you perform at SANFL level.

How many players have had a game this year?

Whilst having less players debut than Geelong is somewhat concerning, we have 4 guys who are yet to play a game on our list. Geelong 8.

Carlton the only team with less players than us on 0 games.

Two of the four should have played a game, Newchurch and this week Taylor.

Nankervis too raw and I struggle to see where Borlase fits in the AFL game. Bit of a poor man's Will Gould, who also hasn't played a game.

Having said all this, I do agree with the thought our selections mainly come from a pool of 26 or so players.

No chance Murphy gets dropped after 3 goals

Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com
Three goals one in a six kick performance. Three tackles and zero handballs. That is a self preservation performance if ever one has seen it. It doesn’t scream team to me. Should have double handballs to kicks by being at the drop.
Look by comparison McReary and Ginnovan play Similar roles and offered so much more for their wo around the packs. Doesn’t look like Murphy was near a pack. He is second grade, I don’t trust him on his decision making because it’s a lot self serving.

O.K. Moon howler, Chicken man and NotsoElite

The latest bullshit being peddled is we have a group of 25-26 players who are selected and the other 19 players are rotting in the SANFL.

Who is in this priveleged group?

Played only in the AFL in 2022
Butts, Doedee, Smith, Dawson, Laird, Keays, McHenry, Rachele, Sloane and Walker = 10 On the List

Berry and O’Brien 16/18 in AFL = 2
On the List

Played 10-15 AFL games in 2023
Hamill, Hinge, Fogarty, Jones, McAdam, Murphy, Murray, Schoenberg, Soligo = 9
On the List

Played most of the second half of 2022
Milera (7), Thilthorpe (6), Parnell (5) = 3
On the List

Played at least 8 of 18 AFL games
Brown (11), Rowe (11), Sholl (11),
Crouch(10), Himmelberg (9), Hately (8)
and Gollant (8) = 7

Well there is 31 players . Who isn’t in the magic 25?

You could argue that Cook (7 AFL games, possibly 8 tomorrow) and Frampton (6) have been given plenty of chances but unlike Soligo they haven’t nailed down a spot.

Let’s call it 33 players who are on the list of 25.

The players not on the list?
Borlase (0), Worrell (0), Davis (0), McPherson (1), Pedlar (3), Strachan (2), Taylor (0), McAsey (0), Nankervis (0) and Newchurch (0)

Pedlar has missed 6 games through injury etc and McPherson 8 games and counting.

Borlase and Nankervis are not ready yet, No one is asking for Davis and McAsey hasn’t fired a shot. That leaves
1)Taylor; starting to look good after some injury issues.
2) Strachan; I’d give him some games just to annoy ROB
3) Worrell; Steady improvement in the Twos, I’d give him a game or two.
4) Newchurch; same story as Worrell.

We've played 27 players since round 10. We've made 11 unforced changes since r 10, representing about 30% of all changes made. Parnell, Thilthorpe and Soligo have been the additions to the team since midyear, largely at the expense of Cook, Brown and Himmelberg. McAdam and Gollant have also crossed over.

There has been a definite shift to a certain group in the second half of the year. I think most people's gripes centre around Crouch and the three forward half short people. The Crouch puzzle seems to be solved, but I'm not sure that we have much cover for the three amigos. It'll end up being Rachelle and one other eventually I guess.

im late to the party, did Matt Crouch withdraw from SANFL to play today in Sydney? Are there any outs?
