all this bad press about Cameron and GWS and the hype around Ryan all week (rightfully so) is giving me bad vibes for this game

GWS were flag favourites at the beginning of year.
Freo were bottom 4 certainties.
the fact we are given any chance at this stage of the season Is a win for the club.

I’m a little confused at this “resting of players for Freo” approach. Any chance of finals requires winning the next 4 in a row. So we put our best team on the park every game. No “rotation” just if you’re sore and still better than the next bloke in you’re playing.

This year should be about setting up next year, not sure how having a 2 goal a game forward on the bench does that.
Looks that way. I'm still not sold on Bewley, i don't believe he is going to be part of our best 22 moving forward in the future as others will over take him and push him out so don't really see the point in pumping games in to him.
People forget that he came in from a pretty limited pre season and hadn't played for almost a year, then he came in half fit and did his calf in his 3rd game and has only stringed a few low contact scratch matches. He needs to get his match fitness up so when he does come in to the team he hits the ground running, not just plodding around half done.
He has been a .87 goal per game player since he got here. Long way off his Dees form. Cam Mac literally dominates him for GPG at Freo.

Yeah make him earn it. He's probably never had to in the past. I like what we're doing...if he cracks the shits that he's not a shoe in everything week, I'd rather not have that type of person at the club.
It's probably a test for him to see how he reacts. I have no qualms if we decide to trade him. I think the culture at Freo is slowly getting back to 12-15 era.

Don't see a problem with making Jesse earn it, I want him in the team but players should never just get "automatic selection" unless it's someone like Fyfe.

If you use the argument that you have to earn it, you also must agree you have to maintain it. We have clear inconsistent underperformers getting games every week in our front six.
Melbourne Jesse is a walk up start in any team in the AFL however the Freo Jesse is hard to call. Imo he is balanced between having a future at Freo and not having his contract renewed at the end of next season. So disappointing for him, the club and us supporters that it is not clear if it's going to work out well for all parties
