Melbourne Jesse is a walk up start in any team in the AFL however the Freo Jesse is hard to call. Imo he is balanced between having a future at Freo and not having his contract renewed at the end of next season. So disappointing for him, the club and us supporters that it is not clear if it's going to work out well for all parties

agree. eye's are getting sore from rolling too much reading this thread. Lobb is knackered and starting to miss easy shots and contested marks he would previously had little trouble grabbing. We're struggling to pass 50 points. WC manage to fit 3 talls and a resting ruck most weeks and win. Yet, Lobb and Tabs are keeping JHo out. Wtf. Hoping whatever expectation JLo needs met by JHo to get him back on the field is reached soon cause all this talk of Hogan getting traded or being done is doing my head in.

much as I'm disappointed not to see Hogan or Valente I can understand the reasoning. The team is going ok and bedding down the gameplan, its our last home game and JL would be very keen to get another W so going with the players with the most match practice and familiarity with the structures.
There will be lots of opportunity in the hub with a condensed fixture (I presume).

Surely Hogan gets a game against Richmond. Same with Valente. There have to be some players that are going to struggle to play again by Wednesday. And maybe Hogan would have been one of those himself, so not much point bringing him in this week.

If you use the argument that you have to earn it, you also must agree you have to maintain it. We have clear inconsistent underperformers getting games every week in our front six.

Yeah make him earn it. He's probably never had to in the past. I like what we're doing...if he cracks the shits that he's not a shoe in everything week, I'd rather not have that type of person at the club.

It's probably a test for him to see how he reacts. I have no qualms if we decide to trade him. I think the culture at Freo is slowly getting back to 12-15 era.

Agree with this to certain point and believe they want more buy in from him. I think they want him to offer more around the club and set standards etc but we are walking a fine line when others are continually underperforming.

There is a difference between not doing everything perfectly and underperforming. Most of our players have performed pretty well in a winning combination.
