If tanking then Harry Edwards

No match up for him and we look so much better without the lumbering galloping gasometer.

In Ryan and TK.

Out Gov and Petrol who just doesn’t impact games enough.

Yeah if only Essendon had a 203cm key forward.

Edwards may not play, but its not because he has no matchup.

Honestly that Rioli decision is ludicrous. Absolutely nothing in that. That headband wearing, puppy dog locks handbag went down quicker than a $2 hooker after nothing more than a love tap. Weak as pis$ decision despite being just financial.

He is no match for 2m Peter who despite being both bigger and stronger than Harry, is also far more agile.

We are tanking if Edwards was goes to him, but of course he won’t and neither should he.

His one goal was a brilliant crumbing effort, and he got two set shot opportunities from getting up and back which he should have converted.

For a small forward playing in a forward line that only got 10 entries a quarter, he was pretty reasonable I thought.

All his highlights came in about a 15 minute patch as per usual. I swear if someone like Shuey played this role even never having played there, he’d get at least the same return.

Not one ounce of intensity in Petch. It shits me to tears. For a guy who’s on the outer you’d think he’d grit his teeth once in a while or pop a hamstring using his speed to chase to show some heart.

He has about as much grunt as a ‘97 Hyundai Excel

Out: Gov, Petch, Nelson
In: Kelly, Ryan

Shuffle the magnets around and Barrass, Yeo and Bazzo can take Essendon’s talls.
Edwards has done nothing to earn a recall.

Kelly back in the midfield with Gaff to a wing.

Ryan has been unfit and lazy all year but even playing at 40% is still better than Petch.
If we’re rewarding effort I’d even have Samo ahead but as if we’d reward effort!

Don’t even bother replacing Nelson, just play one man short. You won’t even notice he’s gone.

Take that crap back to Facebook where it belongs.

Nelson ain't no superstar and has and will always be in and out of the team. However, despite all his haters, he puts in 100% and shows some heart every game. If you can't see that then don't even bother pretending you know anything. You're opinion won't be missed.

Petch is clueless when it comes to set shots for goal.
His kicks come off the boot alright and are generally straight but he has no idea how line up his shot or where to aim.
I was right behind the shot he had in the 3rd qtr, it was clear he had to start it on the rh post, Petch ran straight at the left hand post, it started left of the lh post and stayed there. It beggars belief that you can become an AFL footballer as a forward with no forward craft at all.

His first set shot opportunity came in the first quarter, his goal came in the second quarter, his other set shot opportunity came in the third quarter.

Makes me double check to make sure my car tyres haven't been stolen.

Do rate him as a player though

What an odd crime. Imagine jacking up someone's car, removing the wheels, taking them to a tyre shop, getting the tyres removed from the wheels, then refitting the tyreless wheels back onto the car so you can keep the tyres.

Mate, this isn’t little league, we’re trying to win premierships here.
You’re valuing effort from a guy who’s been on the list for 7 years over his actual output.
He’s not some young kid who needs some time to develop.

To top it all off if he’s such a clubman, why was he dumb enough to lead the boys to the hip-e club.

I remember this set shot. Spent the whole 30 seconds looking around for another option. Hesitated 3 times, then reluctantly went back and poked the ball from 40m out with no routine.
He doesn’t want the responsibility

Oh, he’s so bad that we count missed set shot opportunities as highlights now?
Is that where Petch is at?

The fact his speed and workrate was able to create the opportunity was the highlight.

As I said before, he’s playing as a small forward in a side that’s not getting a lot of forward entries.

The reality is that outside of a few veterans, who will be gone soon, and very recent draftees + kelly most of our list is not good enough to be part for a premiership. A few will find a useful role but it will take a few seasons to turnover the others. This is inevitable but will require patience.

The positive is that we look to be drafting very well this and last year.

So you want to win premierships by playing one man short? That's real smart.

Well now is the time to be experimenting with the list we do have!
Not flogging the same horses we have for 7 years

While in the premiership window the last few years, we’ve selected the team erring on the side of experience and the know commodities every week, there was a lot at stake, go with what you know.

But that’s not the case this year and we continue to select the team like we are on the cusp of the 8
