Blair was decent enough but I would question a couple of things about his selection.

1. Is having all of Blair, Thomas and Brown in our midfield group one to many small inside midfielders?

This leads me into my next point.

2. If Blair was going to spend a lot of time playing through the midfield wouldn't Sier (even if it was a debut) have been a better option in order to add some variety to the mix.

If you're looking for one stat out of the game for Blair that is damning then it's in the metres gained.

Blair 20 possessions (8 kicks) 118 metres
Brown 18 possessions ( 8 kicks) 273 metres
Thomas 16 possessions (9 kicks) 211 metres

For comparison:
Varcoe 2018 Average 202.6 metres
Crocker 2018 Average 211.8 metres
Brown 2018 Average 213 metres
Thomas 2018 Average 232.8 metres
Adams 2018 Average 250.7 metres

Blair 2017 Average 101.2 metres
Fasolo 2017 Average 190.9 metres
Elliott 2017 Average 221.5 metres

Only 1 stat I know but the disparity between Blair and his contemporaries whether in the midfield or up forward is still quite stark and an indication that he just isn't as capable when it comes to creating advantageous field placement for the side.

Like many others, I share the frustration with our injury list. I think the club doesn't help itself with how it keeps us informed. This is still the injury update on the CFC website. Last updated 17 April...

Taylor Adams, Jamie Elliott, Darcy Moore, Josh Smith (hamstring) – 1-2 weeks
“Taylor, Jamie, Darcy and Josh are all players who are looking at somewhere around the Richmond game. We’ve got the ANZAC Day game in eight days. Four days later we play the Tigers, and there’s a possibility that all or some of those guys will resume around that time. If not, it will certainly be the week after. They are all on the verge of returning, so they are recovering quite well.”

Zero from four on the bolded Geoff.

None of us can comment on the actual management of injuries, nor whether players are ready or not or should be risked (so shuddup about it?). But it is pretty simple to update a website with something more current. And please manage my expectations by under-promising then over-delivering rather than the opposite?

1-2 means could be back God Knows When

I reckon we need a couple more Blair's and Mayne's and we'll be right.

Forget these pesky kids banging down the door.

At least we know what we'll get from Mayne & Blair.

Those kids could play well or play bad and we can't go into a game with such uncertainty.

We know Blair and Mayne will be bad and that's gives stability.

Wow
This highlights what we all see but doesn’t show up in other stats

Well we'll have to wait and see who comes back this weekend surely?

From Bucks' post match it sounds like Adams and Moore are quite likely to return. Smith must be thereabouts too considering he was an emergency. So that's 3/4 for the "certainly the week after" camp. Elliott is unclear - Bucks said he's a couple of weeks away, hopefully that means a couple of weeks away from AFL contention and that he is ready to return in the VFL this weekend or soon thereafter.

In: Moore, Adams, Varcoe, Langdon
Out: Reid (inj), Aish (inj), Mayne, Blair

I'm assuming Wells isn't ready to go. I would give him another VFL game this week and have him cherry ripe for the bigger game vs Geelong, without the hassle of interstate travel also.

Appleby was pretty good I thought, would be nice to see him get another game & an interstate trip under his belt.

If Moore isn't ready, then McClarty or Fasolo to take that place.

B: Crisp Dunn Appleby
HB Howe Scharenberg Murray
C: Phillips Pendlebury Sidebottom
HF: De Goey Moore Thomas
F: Hoskin-Elliott Cox Varcoe
R: Grundy Treloar Adams
I: Brown Maynard Stephenson Langdon

Varcoe, Adams and Moore would be good ins.
Varcoe > Blair
Moore> Reid
and really missed a contested beast yesterday which Adams will provide.

In: Varcoe, Moore, Adams, Langdon
Out: Mayne Reid, Aish and reckon Appleby will make way for langdon unless Maynard doesn't get up.

Would love Fas in for Blair, but I think he will be given another go.

swoop42 I am no expert on stats,
But are those stats based purely on foot disposal or hand or maybe a combination of both?
And my other question is the efficiency from the stats provided,As in turn overs or clangers,I am taking a wild guess here but Adams clangers must be huge.
And i agree re player Blair.
