Prediction Changes v Collingwood (Round 2)

Any team that is missing two midfielders from the current All-Australian side is likely to struggle at centre bounces. As we found out on Saturday night.

Coffield seems a logical replacement for Cleary… how did he go in the VFL practice match?
Only played a half and ran laps for the other half. While his minutes are being managed we can't risk him. Needs full game time first.

Given that North did for large periods, I think you are right. Will be under siege from their talls getting first crack
Maybe I’m crazy but I think a midfield of Xerri, LDU, Sheezel, Powell, Parker and Zurhaar is better than one made up of Cameron, Perryman, Lapinski, Crisp, Daicos and Sidebottom.

Daicos is by far the best player among them but I think Xerri is well clear as the 2nd most influential. The north mids are fast compared to the pies.

If we can tag Daicos effectively, I think our midfield will actually be much more competitive than last week.

It’s the pies defense that worries me. Can we find enough goal kickers?

Any chance of us trying to tag Daicos? Do we have anyone who could run with him?

Do we think Dolan can run out a game on the MCG?

Williams, JOD and Lobb down back with AJ and Poulter/Baker to come in for Cleary and Gags/Dolan.

The spare out of AJ, Poulter and Baker as sub.
Could Williams tag? Seems like a good runner and has a bit of defensive nous from his time down back.

This is the team that spanked Geelong at the cattery late last year - unavailable or unlikely players for this weekend highlighted:

Treloar and Bont are hard to cover (Treloar particularly was incredible that game), however outside of that we're not in that much of a different position.

We're in with a chance?!

Bevo wont play a tag on Daicos, rarely ever does use players to tag.

Missed so much of the pre-season and all of the practice matches from memory. Likely needs a decent block more training and a few VFL games before he is in line for selection you would think. Maybe a couple weeks away fitness wise at best

DeGoey will play this week. He is the difference maker in there. You also left off Houstan who can run through there. I think the quality is much better in Pies than North.

It appears Ned Long was the one I definitely forgot about. Houston, Crisp and Lipinski weren’t really in there at all.

DeGoey is a bit scary but hopefully he’s still building a bit of game fitness.

What’s the expected crowd on Friday night?
Could be 80k
I opted to book a reserve seat in MCC today and all I could get as a single seat was in the nosebleeds.
I’m also an AFL member and those seats are nearly all booked too

Nice payday coming for your club with this gate.

you’ll get a bigger crowd too from the Pies big win against Port. The fair weathers will come out.

Enjoy the celebrations

He's a flip of the coin player to me. Can see him scorching hot one week the just above average the next. But when he brings his A game he has big impact unfortunately.

He did last year didn't he? Gallagher went to Daicos from the first bounce but got smacked so was moved off him in the 2nd half.
Yeah he did. Umps were tough on him though and called every touch on Daicos which didn't help his confidence (not that Daicos would ever be protected).

Garcia (or Gags?) full blown tackled Daicos so clearly in front of goals... play on... It was so blatant if anyone remembers the time of footage?

Don't remember the time, was late in the game, and as you say, blatant.
