That's a massive call for a guy that has barely played in 2 years.

I'll wait and reserve judgement on Doedee (1) actually getting out on the park and playing a game; and (2) whether he can sustain and gets close to what he was.

Assuming he returns to anything like how he used to be is a big call let alone getting close to the standard Frog is at who was immense in the second half on Saturday.

I think if he was immense in the second half he'd have more than 5 votes in the review thread (possibly all 3KZ)

Apart from leadership he's not bringing a lot to the backline

I've watched the second enough to realise Frog was very good in that second half and took a number of intercepting marks to warrant my comment.

I also think the coaches votes also demonstrates that their were a number of players for the Lions that missed out on the top 5 and only having 5 votes in our poll doesn't mean his game shouldn't be rated.

He was good but let's not overstate it

Would've been immense if he once got across to help out Payne

Yeah obviously I didn't mean it didn't help them get better players and build their fan base.

What I was more about was that it never really helped them on field success wise or building a better culture/development structure for the team.

Yeah totally. The way I think about the inherent advantages and disadvantages in our comp is that they only factor in about 5% of performance max. Talent identification, coaching, player development all are the most important - but having that financial base can help bail you out.

Fwiiw all clubs help players/partners with jobs/education/opportunities.
I'm not going into names, but some have landed extraordinarily cushy jobs and companies those partners could only dream. I guess I feel sorry for people in those companies who've worked bloody hard to get where they are in the company only for a partner to be parachuted into roles that if they weren't a WAG, they'd have got nowhere near based on their qualifications.

Not AFL but I know a woman who was a high level accountant at a huge national mining company, they routinely gave substantial under the table money to Broncos players in the 90s-00s.

Brisbane likely to go in unchanged for their prelimin ary final against Geelong. Bruce Reville was pushing for inclusion but suffered a minor hamstring injury in the VFL final. Logan Morris was subbed out last week but is expected to keep his spot

Apart from an early goal he conceded Lester rarely lost a contest

Pretty sure his agreement as a part time coach and match day for home games only was just for the H&A season. Now we are deep in finals he’s fully on board. Was down in Sydney for the semi final I believe and surely heads down for the prelim?

I assume Cotchin will be there for the prelim also…

Where can you find coaches votes?

Going to Sydney is interesting, in the past he's just been at the Gabba on match days. Which is also an advancement on his initial duties at the club - helping out at Brighton Homes Arena for training sessions on Tuesdays.

Hopefully follows it up to Melbourne with Cotch also there.

The Preliminary Finalists are from 4 different states, you would think that has not happened too often over the years.
Only 3 times. Swamp

I don’t mind this. I know Morris wasn’t great last week but with Conor as a sub it gives us immense versatility.

The way Conor came on on the weekend for Morris was great, it just immediately had an impact by opening up our forward line and suddenly our entries looked superb.
