Whilst I’d rather Tucker not be anywhere near the team he’s probably better in it than as sub.
But geez both those options make me feel a little ill
I like tucker in the backline much more than lmac

Not sure how lmac started ahead of him last week

Tucker is good at getting back in the hole and putting his body on the line to actually help our defenders

Hardeman play lawn bowls? There is no way Bergman is a better option than him.

Also K.Dawson had more tools to be a capable defender than Pink.
Doesn't surprise me. Miller is older and was picked and played in the Eagles game.
I would've loved to see Riley but I guess they need to make a call on Miller at year end as well.

Looking forward to Maley debuting. Reminicent of looking forward Majak Daws first game...Pink will no doubt play back to replace Logue.

If Comben doesnt come up then Bergman or Teakle will no doubt come in for him.

Pink, Phillips , Tucker and Konstanski for the IC and Stephens (Sub)

Bergs and pink

They aren’t up to and have no elite traits

No, I mean who did you want instead?

(For what it's worth I highly doubt Bergman will actually play)

The fact we have so many surprise ins means our teams hierarchy is yet to be established. We are a mess. Going to get flogged on sunday

Okay okay okay okay everyone just pump the brakes and take a breath.

Because it's a Sunday afternoon game, the extended list of 'ins' today is a bit of a furphy.

I'm no expert and not pretending to be, but from watching the match sim at training today, I feel confident saying the following about the 'INS' listed tonight;
  • Toby Pink - will play, is the 1-for-1 swap for Griffin Logue. At training today he absolutely looked a class above both Wil and Kal Dawson. Whitlock doesn't look particularly close to ready.
  • Dylan Stephens - spent the entire match sim playing for the 'B' team, didn't stand out at all. Won't make the squad but maybe is the sub?.
  • Miller Bergman - I don't think he got a single touch the entire time I watched the match-sim. Won't make the squad.
  • Brynn Teakle - Is likely included here so we can include him as an emergency if Comben doesn't get up for the game
  • Finnbar Maley - the biggest wildcard of the 'ins'. Looked decent as the primary tall forward for the 'B' team during today's match sim, but I also don't think we're likely to play three talls.
So with all of that said, I expect our interchange for Sunday's game will end up looking like;

I/C: Konstanty, Phillips, Tucker, Pink

Now, the only head-scratcher for me is the absence of Riley Hardeman. He started for the 'A' team today and looked good. I fully expected to see him as an 'IN' today. But I do wonder if maybe his return to AFL footy is being managed in terms of his health/fitness? In today's match-sim he was miles ahead of Tucker/Stephens/Bergman though.

Well won’t matter if Hardenham don’t get a go I expect him to want to go home especially if this club recruits Maynard then you will have him Daniel Archer and McDonald as you small backs which means no Bergman,Tucker,Hardenham,Fisher in the back half .
I feel sorry for Hardenham especially since we recruited him to play that backline role only for him to be a designated VFL player.

This is surely the last year of Luke McDonald's career.

30 years old. Barely deserved to be best 22 last year. Has relinquished the captaincy.

Surely this is his last rodeo.

Key attributes for a half back: Accurate disposal, Know when to go, know how to compete.

Hardeman is almost identical to Luke McDonald

I don't think Riley will head home. Extended an extra year and contracted until end of 2026.
So long as the coaches communicate what he needs to work on, it should be fine. He'll get a chance soon.
