Until we start winning games it's impossible to have any confidence with this group.

It's well overdue for us to take the next step, so enough talk from the club as it means nothing if we don't take the next step onfield.

Exactly. This game on paper is so winnable, but so was last week's. I wonder what new ways we'll find to turn over the ball and gift the oppo goals in almost comedic fashion.

Every time I listened or read the criticism of Carlton this morning, it sounded like they were talking about North. No method in the ball movement, kicking it long in hope, poor forward entries, good in contested ball but not much else, bottom 10 players in the 23 not performing and are battlers etc

I would like to think that with our access to topline talent over the last 5 years we should be well placed not to have those issues, or at least be awaiting on a few top kids maturing but should have most of the pieces of the puzzle on the list already. When Sam Mitchell made a similar comment a few years ago when they were down the bottom (he said despite them being thrashed every week most of the pieces are already in place) people laughed at him. That has been proven as true at this stage with the remaining pieces acquired via trade and free agency. But in our case, the jury is out.

I would think that with all the young talent we should have, add Parker, Daniel, Darling, Larkey, LDU, X, Corr, Logue, Zurhaar etc we should be winning plenty of games and be on the right track. But looking at our 23 last week and this week there is a bit of a strange feel about it. We are not a young side - let's be frank about it. Yet we are a side that's been put together with some glue and duct tape. At least it has a bit of that feel about it.

I am not a qualified list manager of course. No doubt Brady would answer all those concerns with some assuring responses if asked. Maybe we just need to win a bloody game for the list to seem better.

Just feels like there is no plan.

Mitchell had a vision of how to progress the game strategically. They then coached the side towards that and had list management working towards that.

They aren't the best list but they have a strategic edge and everyone is on the same page. Many teams have had success like this without being the best list - think Macrae and Collingwood most recently.

At this stage either Clarkson has lost the ability to provide forward thinking strategic direction regarding gameplay or there is a failure within the organisation to get on the same page.

Our list management decisions reek of desperation rather than a plan and at this stage they aren't going to bear any fruit - nice job guys!

l'm currently numb to winning and losing, l only go to watch the game... ;)

we have to win this
next week against an in form crows in adelaide will be a massive struggle

I love how literally every other team flips their own narrative.
Hawks, Richmond and now Adelaide have all become teams to be either feared or somewhat respected due to the fact that they might well win.

Meanwhile, there’s lowly North, hoping to feed off of the pus from things such as a depleted bulldogs (and still failing), on their way to.. What would be a pass mark this year? How low is our bar? 4 wins?

And yet… there are those who still confidently expect us to win every week.

I didn’t “confidently expect us to win” every week through the 90s so I’m hardly going to start now.

Looking for the positives in the club I claim to support and showing up every week to cheer regardless is the path I choose. Faith isn’t the same thing as confidence at all. Also I could not care less what other clubs do, and I’m especially not going to get sucked into getting bent about Richmond based on the smallest possible sample size.

True. He might be wearing Fritsch like a glove so it could be Corr going to Petracca
I reckon you've been watching the player specific devotion of Junk Yard, Nostra, Chadwiko etc and thought "I'll have me some of that thanks".

That Calb Windsor isn't playing .... Idk who he is, a speedster though apparently .... that can only be a good thing. We're as slow as my toaster.

There appears to be a lack of a list build plan. The best mids are fine, but they need support from behind and in front. We have completely stuffed up the support roles, and not playing someone like Hardeman is a good example.

The Hawks under Clarkson wanted great kicks, the Hawks and Pies under the current regime want strong runners. I don't think you could look at our list build and have a firm idea as to exactly what our list demographic plan is.

The sum of our list build appears to just be

TALENT

It's all very Carlton
