Read Woosha quotes on Hill's game, he said his defensive pressure is elite, he's not going anywhere
the MC are very very happy with the role he is playing.
I don't get the hate for Hill here.

I too have had the perception that he goes missing for large chunks of the game and that he's soft.

I have made a concerted effort to watch him closely this year. And he has stepped up to another level and has dispelled my pre-conceptions.

Has a big work rate, very good defensively, does a lot of team things, a lot of 1 %ers that get missed on this board.

Point me in the right direction.... where is the hate coming from?

Looking forward to this.

Hopefully we can put in a better effort than last time.

Don't be too hard on your fellas - I was quite happy with your efforts last year

Jokes aside I'm expecting a far closer contest this time

The form line is interesting.

We have both played Hawthorn, Port and Brisbane and North has acquitted themselves better in all three matches.

In: Waters, Kerr, Masto!!!
Out: Hutchings, Gaff,Smith

Give Gaff a go in the WAFL for a week.

Hutchings unlucky and think he is a good prospect.

Smith...dunno what happened to him this year he is our worst player.

Brennan Emac Glass
Hurn. Brown. Waters

Schoey. Priddis Rosa

Lecra. Jk. Wellingham
Hill. Darling Cox

Ruck: Nic nat scooter Kerr

Bench: Shep, Masten, Shuey, Sub: Dal

Give Schoey more time on the wing so we can keep Brown to help out with Norths talk forward line.

Hills defensive pressure has gone up a notch this year. He isn't kicking as many goals but what he does is fantastic and reward will come like it did in the last 5 minutes when he intercepted that hand ball. I agree with Woosh on this one where he said he has class that shines out sometimes and can win a game for us. His combination with the rest of the forward team is awesome.

Just needs the mids to get it to them more often. Right now our defence and forwards are first class but the mids give it up far too often. If we can change that we will be a very formidable team. May not happen this year though unfortunately.

Out: Hutchings, Smith/Brennan, Dalziell/Gaff

The thing is, do we go with the guy who is playing okay (Dalziell) or the guy who has got greater potential to be excellent (Gaff) but isn't doing as much at the moment?

I feel like we should do the latter. It was a scrubber of a deck yesterday and there were a lot of other players who were down, not just Gaff. And, to be perfectly honest, Gaff taking a tag is freeing up Shuey and Masten a lot this year, so it has its benefits.

Add the bulldogs to that list

If the game was at Etihad then you blokes would be favourites without question

Not much to split the teams imo

Agree. Not on current form.

We will need to start well to keep the Eagles confidence and crowd at bay.

Whats the word on Swallow? One of my favourite non eagles players and as much as him being out would help us would prefer being able to see him play!

Swallow was on ch7 game day and declared himself a certain starter

Scans tomorrow. Looks like he has avoided any serious damage. Claimed it was just sore on this mornings footy show.

Mullet has a turned ankle. The short week might stop him taking the field. Hansen, McMahon and Goldstein have a few niggles. I suspect they will have a light week at Arden Street.

A lot of recommendations for Gaff to spend a week in WAFL because his getting tagged/out of form. I think with Kerr and masto back in the side we will see a different Gaff then we have seen for most of this year. When our best midfield is in, Shuey and gaff become the players we expect them too be.

You can forget comparing the Brisbane matches as it's close to, if not THE hardest trip in footy for us, and Brisbane at the GABBA is somewhat of a bogey team. While you played them in Melbourne and the result was to be expected. We'd have killed them at subi too.

As for Port, you choked yourselves, without actually losing so yea you get that one since you got over the line but hardly worth bragging about.

Hawks game, can't argue at all with that.

As for this week, well, cooler climate this time around and a night game probably evens out the home advantage if you compare to the final last year.

Short version of this post is we'll win.

Oh give gaff a go in wafl? So what's your solution to when the tagger goes onto someone else and shuts them down? Drop them too? In fact drop anyone that's any good to ensure we don't get tagged!

You are a genius. Oh and schofield on the wing? So you think his 4 possessions a game is better than gaffs 15 being tagged? Hmmm

Good stuff.

Should be a good game.

So you see the benefit in keeping gaff but still want him dropped? Classic.

This, replace Brennan with Smith

Brennans attack on the ball is fantastic however his body work is atrocious.

Smith is very good one on one when firing and can also play tall or small, did so many times in '11.

I think Smith needs to be persisted with, his ceiling is much higher than Brennans and just like Brown will settle once given a good run of games.

Dropping Gaff to the WAFL is pointless really, he's just going to run everyone off their feet and get 40 touches and be straight back in the team. We could play him as a loose man across half back but thats not really going to address his defensive issues but he will get more of the ball and maybee even free up Hurn.
