Even though Trew is gone the way the club has managed decisions around him has been really poor.
They should have just delisted him last year instead of making the easy choice to just keep him on when they knew he was not AFL level.
Then when he gets a shot he's brought in as a sub instead of a full game was really bad.

Hopefully with a new list manager we soon wont be carrying so many on the list for it to be an issue.

Idk why people are surprised we kept Trew on the list while not playing him, we have almost no inside mid depth. Our inside mids include Kelly, Yeo(cooked groin), Culley(coming off an ACL), Sheed(Lol), and a bunch of 1st and 2nd year players. If we lost a couple of those older guys we are forced to move around guys like Duggan to make things work.
Im no list manager but it doesnt take a genius to see where he sits after being on the list for years

The alternative was to find another inside mid to take that last spot on the rookie list who would likely be no better than Trew, and would have to start again learning the place as a new recruit. He was basically delisted until DevRob changed his mind very late in the piece.

Trew is a solid WAFL player, hes been around long enough for us to know what he is, ok last resort inside mid who isnt a teenager.
Im sure hes not too upset at getting a paycheck for an extra year to play footy full time

Maybe the club has been open with Trew about where he sits. They may have told him before they even re-signed him that he was up against it unless injuries struck.

Happy with Culley back, really hope he isn’t the sub and has a good game. Was really impressed with he’s contested marking around the ground on the weekend. It was also good to see a bit of outside run too and he wasn’t just purely contested.

Don’t understand why Trew was kept on the list.

They obviously don’t rate him. Maybe he was the only guy prepared to play for peanuts and no future.

They could have kept Winder on but he would be getting the same treatment as Trew.

I don’t know why SPS was delisted. He was clearly an AFL level footballer but perhaps he didn’t want to be demoted to the rookie list and have his pay cut by 200%. Perhaps he had a too honest conversation with Simpson or some other wheeler and dealer. It would be interesting to know.
Yeah if they are not going to bother playing trew why on earth didn’t they just keep winder or sps instead. Both players with more upside and role flexibility.

Even if they didnt openly tell Trew, being re-signed so late after the trade with Deven fell through is a pretty clear indication.
His options would have been stay on the rookie list with a slight chance and get a paycheck, or go back to WAFL full time

It was the last position on the list and maybe they were tired of thinking about it, and said hell, Trew will do, I want to go home.

Well pissed at the campaigner that brought up SPS, I'm still not over him being delisted instead of a few of the other cloggers we have stinking it up. ****en amateur hour for the list manager.

Trew just needs to be open and honest with Simmo. He should sit him down and tell him:

"Forget what them boys is talkin' bout, I'm Trew, I'm Trew
You ridin' swangs you gripping grian, I do, I do
You candy red you candy blue, you poppin' trunk you jammin' screw
Don't know about you but I'm Trew, I'm Trew"

He'd be guaranteed a game after that.

Trew either replaces Sheed or plays as the sub again instead of whoever between Maric and Hutchinson gets the vest

Could make a case for either alternative and I suspect many here would rather Trew ahead of Sheed. But it’s pretty line ball and the result isn’t going to rest on that one selection

Personally thought Sheed played well against St Kilda, especially early, but his impact waned the longer the game went.

Don’t think it’s worth melting over

Sheed to either tag LDU or follow Sheezel around so he cant get the little marks he always gets, tagger is more useful the worse our midfield is.
When there are obvious tag targets definitely dont mind Sheed in the team as long as he is doing a job on someone
