He had off field issues in 2019. Spoke to him at the Social Club Xmas party. He didn’t explainWhat did he actually do wrong? Recall him playing well end of 2018, then injured and then?

Both of them are much better In the midfield although west had a couple good showings up forward this yearNot seeing a lot of west or McLean in these preferred forward 6s. Very interesting.
Looks good for quality just a little light on for paceDale Naughts Lipinski
Wallis Bruce Weightman
Q: When was the last time a key forward proved himself the best contested marking forward in the comp (as a teenaget no less) and then got sent to defence.
A: Trick question. Ain't never happened.
Damn. As I was worried about, Dale and Schache are unfit so I think Gowers will keep his spot.Gowers has to go.
Young, Porter, and Weightman.... we can't keep carrying this many inexperienced players, especially when they're all playing in the same area of the ground. We are not a rebuilding side. If I had to keep one, it's probably Weightman as he has the highest upside but I'd prefer to develop West as I think he's shown more.
Fingers crossed Dale or Schache are healthy by next week, else I'm worried Gowers keeps his position as the second "marking" option forward. I'd much prefer Greene if Dale or Schache aren't right but I'm not privy to current form/fitness levels.
If we roughly group up the roles on the ground, I feel like 3 of the 4 groups are pretty settled (backs, followers and wings)
Backs: Cordy, Keath, Williams, Daniel, JJ, Wood, Croz
Followers: English, Libba, Bont, Smith, Macrae
Wings: VDM, Richards, Lipinski (when Hunter comes back, VDM moves to the forwards)
This isn't to say some of these players don't move around but just generally grouping into their main role.
Still big question marks on the forwards... if we're playing Porter and Young up there for significant time it's not ideal.
Forwards from last night: Bruce, Wallis, Porter, Young, Suckling, Gowers, Weightman (bold won't be dropped)
It's obvious we are lacking natural forwards as well as experience. Too much panicked play, with already developing players such as VDM, Richards in other parts of the ground.
I'd have our best forward group as: Bruce, Schache, Wallis, Dale, Suckling, McLean, Dickson/Lloyd
Dale needs two talls next to him to perform at his best. Without Naughton we need Schache as a 2nd target, even if he's soft he still has more pros than cons with his accurate kicking, leading patterns and general forward nous. Suckling in the high half forward role is his best position currently. Wallis picks himself. McLean needs to lock down a role but should be good enough for best 22. Dickson or Lloyd as the smaller forwards, with their experience, forward craft and accurate kicking. I think this just makes us a much better team.
If Schache is injured I think Greene is a better option than Gowers as the second "tall". If Dale is still injured then both Lloyd and Dickson come in (or I guess Weightman could keep his spot).

Any word on Hunter's potential return?
Garcia still waiting too, although that won't be happening this year...I'm hanging out for the video of a new debutant being announced at training.
Who will it be this week? I think there's only Khamis and Sweet left.
Or will it be one of the forgotten men - Hayes, Lynch, Greene, Roarke Smith?
Surely McLean is a direct swap for Porter this week. I mean Porter played plenty of midfield minutes last week so we should be able to take those and give them to Toby.
Even at 56% game time, he still would’ve played the majority of those on the middle so there should be enough for Toby to get a 40% forward/40% mid gig this week, especially with Hunter out as well.He only played 56% game time so he didn’t play many minutes at all.
Gowers only played about 65%.
Either they were injured, unfit or doing something wrong.
These changes make the most sense, but we just know that's not what it'll end up being. Don't think we've collectively been able to predict a single week correctly so far. There's going to be some curveball like Gowers staying in, someone being managed, etc.Even at 56% game time, he still would’ve played the majority of those on the middle so there should be enough for Toby to get a 40% forward/40% mid gig this week, especially with Hunter out as well.
Gowers is a liability on the ground at all times so hopefully the changes are very basic this week.
In: McLean, Lloyd
Out: Porter, Gowers
