Geelong supporter, but you guys are so impressive, you get another W this week imo no question!
I didn't think we were that impressive tbh.

Was at the game, might have to watch the replay haha

Dale needs to be dropped (should have been dropped the previous week). Applies little pressure, and is now doing too many clangers.
Jack should go down back. It is wasteful having someone of his quality on the fringe. The last phase of his career should be as an elite lockdown defender that frees up the rest of the defense to be more attacking.

McCrae should be playing 1000 percent, gives more forward minutes to Bont,

Daniel and Dale utilities off the bench,

Duryea isn't needed unfortunately playing well though

I believe we should try a forward strategy of 2 full forwards and 2 chf split by the smalls in the middle

FF:Marra west Darcy
HF: Naughton Flea Lobb
C: Gallagher Sanders baker
R:English Bont Libba
HB Williams buku JJ
FB:Red Jones Bramble
Int: Treloar, daniel macrae, Dale Sub Poulter / vdm

We need to rotate our mids and our tall ruck forwards more create more chaos in the forward
I like that forward structure. might give the forwards some desperately needed seperation.

Yep, my bad.

20 Pa’s is still high. Coupled with his sprint efforts, that’s what’s guaranteeing his spot in the side.

I posted a blog that had some footage of melbourne in R1'23 ripping us several arseholes that demonstrate the value of closing space and what happens if you dont. (naughton thread) If you occupy a good spot, it means the opposition wont kick the ball there, which is not a quantifiable stat. There is no 'right place, right time' stat :p

Not saying that with all of Vanders repeat sprints that he is clocking up RPRT stats... but he is running somewhere.... presumably for a good reason. the coaches seem to like it, anyway

Out: Dale, Macrae, Daniel’s, English, VDM

In: Cleary, Harms, Garcia, Lobb, Clarke

If selection committee has any integrity you drop our worst and replace them with the VFL best.

Cleary to replace Dale off halfback.
Clarke in for VDM
2 mids for 2 mids
Lobb for English, him and Darcy to do 50/50 ruck work.

I doubt our committee has that level of integrity tho
Except the VFL didn't play last week - hard to reward anyone due to that

Gee youse are tough bunch! If your forwards kick straight, you beat the cats.

I thought Caleb Daniels and co. worked so hard to set the platform for your glorious trio.

I see no change unless injury.
If you dont want to click the link. I'll paraphrase it for you. Dont be a campaigner on other team boards.

When you single out a guy who got subbed out because he couldn't get a kick then you're trolling and being a campaigner.

Whoa, I'm sorry but I think you misinterpreted my post! Who did I single out?! I mentioned in the autopsy thread that I thought JUH's wobbling kicking cost you the game in the 4th qtr. I also mentioned that he reminds me of Micky O.

You might want to proof your posts before hitting send then.

I dont think that anybody who watched the game thought that Caleb "Daniels" was the guy to name check as if he was at the forefront of our efforts.

If you would've name checked Libba, the Bont or any of another half dozen of our players as working hard then perhaps I wouldn't have taken your post as a thinly disguised troll.

You'll have to excuse me if I don't recall or care about any of your posts in the autopsy thread.

LOL.

I was actually lauding the collective effort of the bulldogs team and how well they support each other so they can lay a platform for your star midfielders. I was at the game and saw all these 1 percenters. I now understand Bevo's structure.

At the beginning of this thread, a number of posters were calling for Caleb Daniels to be omitted which I thought was tough.

You will have to excuse me if I don't realise how sensitive you may be for possible trolls.

Reading between the lines, I suspect we won't make many changes this week.

Out: Daniel
In: Garcia

One of the under-performing half-back flankers to be the sub.
I also feel given the performance there will likely be minimal changes.
Out : Duryea
In : JOD
Gives JOD a match in which can be shuffled around depending on match ups to get his season rolling

The lack of aligning the VFL with the AFL really is not helping player development at all and does make team selection significantly more difficult.

People here and on other forums will have strong opinion's as who should be in or out, but the lack of alignment of the competitions means no one was knocking the door down and those who were getting into good form have to rediscover that again, which is easier to do in the VFL than the AFL.

On that basis I can see either no change other than who is the sub or Daniel out for JOD or Garcia. There are no obvious changes to bag out the selection committee this week

Ease up

You also have to keep in mind that we're the 4th highest scoring team this year (I understand a game against WCE) but scoring hasn't been an issue this year.
I think stats can be misleading. Deeper analysis involving expected goals vs actual may provide better picture. Ofc, we don't have access to such so we have to rely on our eyes.

Do bulldogs have goal kicking issue in close losses for the past 2 seasons? I don't watch enough of your games but from what I've seen, the 'wasteful' shot attempts is a big culprit.
