JOD in will free up Khamis as a genuine third defender.

Am I right in thinking Dale missed a bit of pre-season? I'm guessing he's getting the benefit of the doubt at least for the next week.Dale has been in bad form. Thought he would've had a run at Footscray to get right.
I'm thinking Gallagher as sub. For whatever reason, he dropped off the map in Q4 last week.Like to see JOD back, a necessary move. Defense was just to small. Think with Jones, JOD, Khamis, Richards and then three smaller defenders is a really good mix.
A little weird that two weeks in a row that a defender has come in and no defender has come out. Probably signifies that Williams will be pushed up the ground. An understandable decision but thought the games against the Suns and Eagles (the easy beats to be fair) where he got moved back to defense were the best and most natural he has looked for years.
Was sort of expecting a defender to go out and then a Poulter or Garcia type to come in as the sub. Not sure who I'd choose for sub from that 23. Maybe Bramble but I've been impressed by him so far, even though last week was a struggle
Out of interest, does anyone know if there are there any other former All Australians on the right side of 30 to have played VFL this year?
Not saying it's the wrong call but interesting that we have 2 players that fit this description (and a third who perhaps isn't far off joining them) whilst I can't think of any other player at any other club.
I try and stay away from the clubs Facebook page every Thursday nightWhat could be expected given the lack of VFL last week.
Btw if you think there are emotional people on here, have a look at some of the Facebook posts

Hope they earn the trust. Can't remember the last time we had young players keeping our season veterans on the fringe of the side.

I'm not mad that CD is out, but can someone explain to me what the difference between CD and Gryan Miers is? Like hypothetically what would rule out CD from playing the Miers role? I don't recall Miers being particularly quick.
You’re welcomeThanks for the unsolicited advice.
Garcia is going to have to conjure up a blood sacrifice to get a go in this team.
Should have just stopped hereI try and stay away from the clubs Facebook page
Seems like an unnecessarily harsh response to a seemingly innocuous comment. You might want to proof your posts before hitting send then.
I dont think that anybody who watched the game thought that Caleb "Daniels" was the guy to name check as if he was at the forefront of our efforts.
If you would've name checked Libba, the Bont or any of another half dozen of our players as working hard then perhaps I wouldn't have taken your post as a thinly disguised troll.
You'll have to excuse me if I don't recall or care about any of your posts in the autopsy thread.
Well to be fair CD has been playing half forward and the wing for the past 12 months and he hasn’t gone close to producing a game like Miers did last weekend.I'm not mad that CD is out, but can someone explain to me what the difference between CD and Gryan Miers is? Glad to see him back also. Is part of our best defensive unit and team. Ease him back in against moderate oppositionYessssss JOD. Good to have him back in.
Really hope Sanders avoids being the sub. Needs game time.

It’s a great point. Tell me it’s not cultural and player management when this happens. Wouldn’t the down form of these players last year have been a key area to focus on over summer and the approach we’ve taken (whatever it is) has just made it worse.I can't think of one off the top of my head. O'Meara is the closest I can think of but he wouldn't have ever been AA and has generally been the sub rather than out of the 23 completely.
Obvious Matt Crouch from last year is the closest example.
I think it's his foot skills which are holding him back.Is Garcia just not one of Bevo's favourites? Would love to see him get a gig for you.
Not necessarily. Williams could always go back and tgen they look to add something different/quicker at wing or in the fwd mix.Caleb's best form came from defence and hes gone back to the VFL to play defence.
IF Bramble puts in another stinker, it will be a straight swap.
