Yeah Adams always gets it wrong when he has time to think. He's one of the culprits of the dinky 30 metre pass inboard that results in a turnover.

Crisp stuffs it up all the time too. Crisp is actually a very good pass to a player leading toward him but a horrible lateral kick.

Both these guys need to move the ball in straight lines.

Treloar is a different issue to me, he just needs to slow down and not always try to do so much. I don't think it's a skill issue so much with him. Nevertheless he should be moving down the lines.

Of course, to play a more territory based game we need targets to kick to. It's why I think that Cox needs to come in at the expense of White. White is useless in the air above his head and gets out marked all the time. The one positive thing about Moore is that he rarely gets out marked (due to leap and reach) so the ball tends to hit the ground. I would like Cox to come in for White just to compete in the air and make things easier for Elliott and Fas.

Fas currently thinks he's 195cms and is just propping back hoping to take a big mark. I'd rather him not be the target (or Blair ffs).

Let's face it, our game plan is a bust and needs adjustment to suit our list's strengths.

If the bolded part is true Sco then let the f....g Titanic sink.

NFI is being generous when it came to our coaching display yesterday.

Did he even make a move? Oh that's right Pendles was on the bench for 14 minutes in the third :thumbsu:

I want to rant and rave as much as anyone CFC, but what's the point? I've expelled all the effort I can muster trying to explain to the masses why we are suffocating under the weight of mediocrity and what's been the net result?

I could mount a case for a multitude of different moves Dunn in, Reid forward, Moore rested, Cox in, Sidebottom forward, Shaz in, Wells in, Fasolo to defense, Maynard out, WHE behind the footy and Crisp out unfortunately none of that will fundamentally change the flawed way in which we play. We exert maximum effort for minimum reward and it's not a winning formula for us.

I have no passion for the club anymore and it's only due to ingrained behaviours that I'll continue to go week to week and post on here. The passion will come back because I love the club and what it stands for by bringing the masses together, but until we see the change that's needed within the FD we can continue shuffling the pieces all we like, but the results will remain the same. A shit brand of footy that we as a group unanimously hate watching!

I will say it again.....Dunn must come in an play forward to coach and help Moore.
I can guarantee you he will not kick it to Blair in the forward line with two six foot defenders on him.

Reid stays back he isn't vocal enough and I think our defence is the least of our worries at the moment.

Wells, Phillips also.

If I had my choice I would even bring De Goey in.......another two weeks in the VFL isn't going to make any difference to his punishment.

In Dunn, Wells, Phillips
Out White, Blair, Smith/Maynard

Forgot Scharenberg also.

Yeah I get your frustration Scodog and I feel the same.
If people can't see IT after that pathetic coaching performance they never will.

Maybe it's the MSG from the Chinese yesterday but I might just stick to watching the VFL at least I get to have a kick with my kids.

No excuses for that performance.

The sad part is we are finally getting a decent run with injuries, Injuries were always the big excuse from most on this board, I always knew we were rubbish regardless.
I'm going to argue against this a little.

So what, we only have 2 players on our injury list.

But how many players are actually weeks of being ready to play at senior level.

Keeffe; Way off it, obviously not a medical/fitness thing, more a match/touch thing, but he's way off
Thomas; See Keeffe
Daicos/Brown/McLarty/McCarthy/Lynch/Kirby; Let's not kid ourselves here, they aren't ready to play senior footy, they are first year kids. All have shown some promise, but apart from Daicos (who will get senior games because of his last name) none of them should play more then 1-2 senior games in 2017.
Wells; See Elliott last night, that's Wells, he's 3-4 weeks of making a real impact at senior level, although I won't be shocked if he plays on AD.
Ramsay; Before he did his knee he was in sensational form, simply isn't the same player now.
Elliott; Shouldn't have played yesterday, that's clear. Bad decision.
Crocker; Can't seem to put more then 2 games together before he gets a week or two off
Sier; Can't get through one game, let alone 2
Scharenberg; Getting closer, but still not really 100% ready for senior footy
Wills; Probbaly 1-2 more weeks away from senior contention
De Goey; Idiot. Still 2 weeks to serve.

There's probably others too, so who does that leave who can actually play against Essendon (who didn't play last night);

Phillips; Comes back in, probably
Cox; Backup ruck, not a forward.
Dunn; Probably has to come in, even though our defense is doing well, just to release Reid forward
Aish; EWW, how bad was he in the VFL? Wow, that was terrible.
Mayne; Yay
Oxley; Playing out the year before he gets delisted

So although we only have 2 players on the injury list there's really as many as 16 players (being a bit extreme there) who won't be considered for selection against Essendon.

We aren't as healthy as it appears, I guess that's my point.

I'd bring Mason Cox back in despite poor VFL form - his height in unmatched anywhere in defensive 50, their tallest defender is Michael hartley at 198. Jesse White isn't a key forward so there is no use in playing him anymore

OUT: Smith, Blair, White
IN: Wells, Daicos, Cox

Dunn, Crocker and Mayne I'd also like to see but I'm not sure how they come in.

Out: Blair, Crisp, Ramsay
In: Daicos, Wells, Dunn

Reid or Howe has to go forward to help Moore, poor kid can't be the main key up forward. Maybe in a few more years.

Ok, I'm going to have a shot at being serious.

Out: Blair, Broomhead, Crisp, Smith.
In: Dunn, Daicos, Wells, Mayne.

Also, I wonder if we shouldn't put Reid forward now. I mean, the forward line isn't working. There's no use denying it.
i though Brokmhead attacked the ball better than most and Smith did some great things in defence, I'd keep playing them unless someone is knocking down the door for a game

Yeah, but Broomhead had three kicks. And no goals. Smith was passable, but passable isn't good enough. But it is possible that Ramsay goes out instead.

Boy.. when you get off the fence, you REALLY get off the fence don't you.

Wonder if it's worth mentioning we got a 5 day break until Geelong the following round. Not a chance Wells plays 2 times in 5 days.

So we drop Blair for one week, he goes back to vfl doesn't set the world on fire and yet is named emergency and gets a gig. That there tells me we reward mediocrity. Dropping him only to bring him straight back in is ridiculous

Needed someone to replace Phillips as a late out. Not certain I would have picked him, but in that situation roll the dice. Probably would have preferred Aish to be honest, but even he was average on Saturday in the VFL

That's just more excuses mate, had the best preseason since about 2010, blokes like Keeffe, Crocker etc aren't taking us to the finals.

Wells and DeGoey the only 2.

Buckley has been dropping blokes after 1 week the past couple years, look at the ins and outs over past couple years it's terrible for structure.

Blair plays under the strange misapprehension that he is a 196cm CHF. Unfortunately the rest of the team also thinks the same. They constantly pass the ball to him high overhead when he is one out against two defenders.
Unfortunately he's often the only one moving.

Blair gets a lot of ball in his direction because he reads the game better than our other forwards. He's the only one who constantly moves and gets into a decent position, but he hasn't got the skill set to do anything when the ball comes.

Moore's got no idea where to run. He should just follow Blair around. At least that way we'll have an aerial ocntest and a midget at ground level.
