Likewise. Some of the greatest moments I've experienced as a North man have been winning games against all odds. I'll be going filled with nervous anticipation for what I hope will ensue. Cannot wait to see how we go with so many outs. I'm certainly not writing us off.

Within 20 seconds of the moment he bursts through their banner too I hope.

Yep

C'mon worry warts. Most of our wins this year have been expected. A win like this could be is what following a team is all about. We're balls deep in this game tomorrow night. Bring it on!

Get in the spirit, for heaven's sake! Of course North is very undermanned, but it's a good team with a good system, the replacements look pretty respectable (Ray Farren, Froggy) and pretty exciting (Daw, Wags), and we still have plenty of very good players who have been in good form. Hawks have been gettable this year, and teams much worse than even our second choice side have given them a good run. I wouldn't be putting money on a win, but I'll be going along with hope.
I am in the spirit. Of being realistic. So far this year I've thought we could win each week. But not this week. I just don't see us winning with all our outs. Yes they've been ordinary but they get 3 decent players back including Mitchell who has been one of the best inside mids in the comp this year, an area where we will be lacking tomorrow.
Expecting a loss but hope I'm wrong.

Does anybody else think that with the wholesale changes to the team might make North just a bit more unpredictable? Seem to recall that Wells tends to have a field day against the Hawks, something we have missed over the last few years.
Agree that Waite hasn't looked 100%, but guessing the coaches felt that he could work through whatever he was carrying and brought more benefit to the team. Interesting to see how Petrie, Brown and Daw work the forward line with Wood.
Really looking forward to this game. Just really hope that the boys give it a fair crack no matter what the result - and I do believe North are eminently capable of winning this game. Always nice to stick it up to the Hawks.

While Scrad Botts sits in the coaches box we have about as much unpredictably (is that even a word, @4:45am sure is) as the titanic hitting the iceberg...

Been a North supporter since the mid-70's. As a kid I had a woollen long sleeve Schimma gurnsey. As an adult I always had a range of North gear but I never an official gurnsey as I was told that "after a certain age men look ridiculous in them".

Anyway.......I recently said **** that, switched to Powershop and picked up my gurnsey as part of their promo. I will proudly wear it for the first time on Friday against the poo and wee flogs.

Cmon North. I'm gonna lose my voice I swear.
Nothing wrong with a guernsey.

So much for our recycled players. No Jacobs, Higgins, Waite, Nahas, Anderson and probably Dal Santo. Perhaps the one team players got a bit jealous. :p

Need this win though as Adelaide next week is a schedule loss (back to back 6 day breaks v Bye).

Agree that its a schedule loss, although I'm praying that the Crows come out rusty, which happens surprisingly often.

All our injuries had to come during our toughest patch..... how convenient!
Actually it would have been worse if they came during the 'easier' patch I reckon.
Why? Because we would have dropped some of those easier games and not had a 10-2 start.
Sure, we may have beaten the cats with a full strength side but I really don't think we would have beaten ALL the top sides anyway.
If we get these players back and have a fully fit list come finals, look out!

Its going to be a tough ask but we have enough mids to cover. I know Dal Santo is under injury cloud but if he is fit and plays then he can easily go into the middle. I know he doesnt do it a lot for us but he is more than capable there.

Ziebell, Wells, Dumont, Dal Santo, Goldstein is not a poor midfield group

Seriously, how can AFL schedule such a thing? **** me, doesn't take a PhD in physiology to know that scheduling a team that has played on the back of two 6 day breaks against a team that has not played for 2 weeks ain't a good idea.

Hawthorn are not exactly in ripping form either, so whilst I expect they will be too strong this week, I think we will give a good account of ourselves.

Despite the circumstances i'd be very disappointed if we get blown away - if we manage to push the Hawks as you suggest I'd be quite satisfied, just like last weekend.

No doubt at all if we were fit I think we could/would win, but for mine it's just too much quality out of the team and key players sore.

That to me is not pessimistic, it is realistic. A win in this game would be a massive effort and a huge bonus to our top 4 chances.

Certified WW here. Fair points though :thumbsu:

Yep. Think Archer's 250th win over the Swanettes, and our stirring first round win over Port in Radelaide post the Carey controversy.

TBH I just hope we have a red hot crack tonight, Annabel Chong style. It's their precise game style of keepings off which is the biggest challenge tonight IMO.

Reckon Annabelle was " knackered " by 3/4 time though T.T.

I reckon the outs are no big deal, I reckon Scotts rates this as our no 1 team, ready to unleash the fury and leave the rest of the comp quivering.

OK, i think the ins are good considering I think its a pretty good job of addressing the outs. We are a shot at this.
