The worry is that he's not very good at that either.
For mine he is a high half forward, with very few tricks and poor physical attributes.
The only time I have thought he has looked up to being worthy as a pick 5 is in games where he has had major time in the centre, the issue is the standard of games he has got those opportunities is only at VFL and Preseason comp games like where he tore Ess a new one.
High HF role he tends to float in and out and just be an ok contributor to down right poor at times. Think the club has to bite the bullet and raise his time in the midfield rotating fwd.
Ahh, ok.Im not sure what game you watched, but he was a crucial link man getting it out of defence and into the forward line.

I guess the issue is that you can suffer having an underpeforming HFF, but it's harder to cop carrying an underperforming player getting decent midfield minutes.
They shouldnt kick it to him.
Spot onTo be honest it's the perfect game to bring him in. Intensity won't be as high given the opposition and he will get to string 3 (?) games together before getting a rest with the bye.
Perfect timing.
Sharenberg is an upgrade on Goldsack, if Goldsack went back to the vfl he would not get the stats sharenberg does. Even if people say Goldsack has been solid - reality is there is someone who can play his role better. Good teams have players miss out on selection whom probably deserve to play
Agree and that to me is the killer point.Sharenberg is an upgrade on Goldsack, if Goldsack went back to the vfl he would not get the stats sharenberg does. Yeah agreed should be in VFL, can't be a failed target if your not in the best 22 to begin with.

Goldsack been worthy of his place in the side, but I'd be looking at Scharenberg given a great run
Unfortunately I don't think buckley has the balls to drop Goldsack for sharenberg, he has always been safe at the selection table (eg Blair). Goldsack is not going to improve himself or us, he will do what he does every week
I still reckon there's a chance he ends up being the best midfielder in that draft, if they play him in the midfieldThe only time I have thought he has looked up to being worthy as a pick 5 is in games where he has had major time in the centre, the issue is the standard of games he has got those opportunities is only at VFL and Preseason comp games like where he tore Ess a new one.

Goldsack probably costs us a goal a game with the kind of stuff ups that Scharenberg will make once a season.Sharenberg is an upgrade on Goldsack, if Goldsack went back to the vfl he would not get the stats sharenberg does. Issue with Howe, Langdon, Reid and Scharenberg in defence is that we are going to have 4 defenders going for marks and getting in each others way and nobody defending on the ground. This has happened a few times this season with just Howe and Reid in defence.Exactly right. Goldsack is a role player. Shaz has the ability to be something more.
Langdon is also a significant upgrade on Goldy once he gets himself match fit.
Geez you blokes are harsh. Thought Goldy was super last night.
