The worry is that he's not very good at that either.

For mine he is a high half forward, with very few tricks and poor physical attributes.

The only time I have thought he has looked up to being worthy as a pick 5 is in games where he has had major time in the centre, the issue is the standard of games he has got those opportunities is only at VFL and Preseason comp games like where he tore Ess a new one.

High HF role he tends to float in and out and just be an ok contributor to down right poor at times. Think the club has to bite the bullet and raise his time in the midfield rotating fwd.

I guess the issue is that you can suffer having an underpeforming HFF, but it's harder to cop carrying an underperforming player getting decent midfield minutes.

Alot of teams do it when in the midst of rebuilding or consolidating talent into games (ie getting youth to the 50 game mark), which we are one if people are honest.

The only way to know if Degoey will swim or sink is if he is played there enough to find his feet or not.

Sharenberg is an upgrade on Goldsack, if Goldsack went back to the vfl he would not get the stats sharenberg does. Even if people say Goldsack has been solid - reality is there is someone who can play his role better. Good teams have players miss out on selection whom probably deserve to play

To be honest it's the perfect game to bring him in. Intensity won't be as high given the opposition and he will get to string 3 (?) games together before getting a rest with the bye.

Perfect timing.
Spot on

Exactly right. Goldsack is a role player. Shaz has the ability to be something more.

Langdon is also a significant upgrade on Goldy once he gets himself match fit.

Clearly will be some change, with the Lions tall forwards we need the Sack to remain in.
With Aish out we need another link type medium defender, I would like to see Callum Brown come in or Schaz.
They might be able to spend some time down back as they also have Zorko in good form.
If we can play like the second half we should do well.

But we also have two interstate trips back to back before our clash with Melbourne, so there might be a player rotation on the cards.

If we can win two from three it will put us in a good spot going into the break.

Agree and that to me is the killer point.
Goldsack been worthy of his place in the side, but I'd be looking at Scharenberg given a great run

Unfortunately I don't think buckley has the balls to drop Goldsack for sharenberg, he has always been safe at the selection table (eg Blair). Goldsack is not going to improve himself or us, he will do what he does every week

Goldy is in great form and wont be dropped. Shuffled around maybe but not dropped.

I still reckon there's a chance he ends up being the best midfielder in that draft, if they play him in the midfield

Goldsack probably costs us a goal a game with the kind of stuff ups that Scharenberg will make once a season.

Issue with Howe, Langdon, Reid and Scharenberg in defence is that we are going to have 4 defenders going for marks and getting in each others way and nobody defending on the ground. This has happened a few times this season with just Howe and Reid in defence.

Howe. Dunn Goldy
Shaz Schade Smith
Wells. Pendle Maynard
Sidey. Moore WHE
Elliott Mayne? Fasolo

Grundy. Treloar. Adams

From: Broomy, Crisp, Greeny, De Goey, Phillips, Crocker, Kirby

Inj: Reid, Varcoe, white, Aish
