Maybe I might look up your posting history to see these so-called posts where you were more positive about a club who broke a 44-year drought, and delivered not one, not two, but three flags, and has made finals all but one year in the last 10 years.

No, I didn't applaud Geelong in 2006. You had a right to be critical then. We hadn't won a flag for 44 years, and the team didn't seem to care, and Bomber himself admitted that he had no answers. I was asking for some of the players to be sacked, and Bomber as well. I demanded top four finish in 2007, or Bomber gets let go. I even thought that we should go after Denis Pagan, since he won flags at North, and would give the players the kick up the bums they needed.

so... you did exactly what blightys is doing now?

man, he can support the cats however he likes. he can be hyper-critical, hyper-positive or totally middling. who cares?

if it seriously bugs you, dont engage. blightys definitely seems to me to have a bit of fun in here with all this. and the more people react, the crazier it gets - on both sides.

its like a true believer and a non-believer arguing religion, both thinking their next point is the slam dunk that has the other agreeing. it will never happen, and why should it?

we are all different, and thats a good thing.

i dont agree with a lot of what blightys says, but he seems pretty switched on about football on the whole. and he is entirely entitled to his own opinions. if you honestly hate them that much, simply dont engage.

But all I ever read from you is negativity, towards our CEO, our coach, our team selection, our prospects etc.

Once, just once, I would like to see you commend Chris Scott for something. Anything! Come on.

Tell you what, bring up these posts where you complimented Chris Scott, where you praised him for something. You say that you have done it. I'd like to read it.

But, I don't know, maybe finally seeing three flags made me a lot happier, a lot more positive, a lot more patient. I would love to win one every year, but I am not as anxious then before 2007, when we had lost four Grand Finals (three under your favourite coach Blight), and I thought that we would never win one in our lifetime. I am critical of our 2006 season, and as the years go on, and I have seen how good we were subsequently, it damns the players' and Bomber's performances even more. They were like a team of "Josh Caddys", played like millionaires and delivered like paupers.

Maybe too, I don't understand how you can be critical of a team who has gone from "handbaggers" and a joke in the competition, who never won Grand Finals, to a powerhouse who rivals Hawthorn in respect it gets from onlookers. These years have been a dream come true, and ones I thought I would never see. Anyone who isn't happy with everything Geelong has achieved since 2007 is a spoiled brat who is never satisfied.

Also maybe, I have had bigger things go on in my life, things that far outway the importance of Geelong and if they will win a flag this year. I still follow them, but my priorities have changed, and while Geelong wins still bring me joy and losses sadden me, being angry on a message board about the club not living up to your impossible expectations isn't one of them.
I recently gave credit to Chris Scott on another thread for attempting to change elements of the game plan that I've been banging on about for ages.

My expectations aren't impossible I'm saying we need to do a proper rebuild as soon as possible under a new coach - seeing as we've already done that before, and been successful doing it, I don't see how those are impossible expectations?

Also you didn't answer my question - why did you clap Geelong off the ground that day when West Coast came back from 50 points down to beat us at Kardinia Park?

Despite what happened last year, I would call the Blues easy beats, especially since we got their best defender. But yeah, it's going to be an even season.

Possibly but as stated they beat us last time out so only as good as your last matchup. And Tuohy was probably 3, 4, 5th most important defender at Carlton let's settle just because he is now at Geelong doesn't eradicate his past at carlton. The Blues have a stockpile of talent now so in the near future they might start the climb up

I was happy from 2007-2011 since then I'm not happy with our dismal finals record and our propensity to meekly roll over in big games - amongst other things.

We all have big things in our lives but that doesn't impact on ones opinion of the club, and the simple fact is you disagree with mine but are trying to personally attack me rather than my opinions.

I didn't clap Geelong off the ground that day when West Coast came back from 50 points down to beat us at Kardinia Park. When did I say that I did? Were you there when I did it?

Again, you refer to something from ten years ago. How about joining the rest of us in the 2010's, or whatever this decade is called.

So, you commended Chris Scott for doing something that you already expected him to do?

How clever are you? Maybe you should apply for a job at the Geelong Football Club, since you seem to know so much more than anyone there running it, or any of us as well.

Tell me, what is it like to live in the rarified air of being perfect?

Sounds like a cheap, sooky thing to say.

Gee, you hate Chris Scott, don't you?

I asked BlightyCats this before, and I will ask you- Has there ever been ONE decision, one thing that Chris Scott has done that you actually agreed with and liked.

You are the biggest negative nelly on this board. You shouldn't have a horse as your avatar, you should have Eeyore from "Winnie The Pooh", because you, like him, is a misery guts.

I think you go looking for things to criticise him for. Why don't and BlightyCats go and run the club then, if you guys think you can do so much better?

I would rather be a premiership coach like Chris Scott than some keyboard warrior like you.

I think you convicted yourself with that comment old man.

I wasn't even at that game, I watched it in my living room, and I didn't clap them off.

I bet you never clap Geelong off, ever.

Something I hoped he'd do. As for the perfect jibe, I have no problem admitting fault and have many times on here. We're all human and that's why we disagree and see things from different points of view.

Well, that shows you up, smartarse. I wasn't even at that game, I watched it in my living room, and I didn't clap them off.

I tend to clap players off like Enright after his 300th, Scarlett after his last game when Freo destroyed us in a final at the 'G' in 2012 etc. I like to sing the song and do my own unique version of the trumpet solo more than clap them off.

You didn't read my post from before, saying that I didn't clap them off.

You accuse me of not reading posts, and yet you do the same with me.
You answered that single comment twice?

I just had a sudden vision in to the future of Malop Street Geelong - I think it's due to Scott's re-signing.

I think it's a premonition of your stupid strategy to sack everyone and pick up the wooden spoon for a list rebuild. It risks loss of culture, confidence and good players who will seek opportunities elsewhere.

Or we could keep Scott/Cook and mix drafting and recruiting "mercenaries" to compete for a flag? Every year.

There's going to be a few logistical problems trying to get this to happen. I put my hand up years ago and never got a call back.

I think Bojack is a far more miserable character than Eeyore.

Unfortunately, you're the latter.

I clapped Enright off after his 300th, but was disappointed with the team's effort in general, and that one of their greatest players during the decade's milestone wasn't enough for the team to lift their game and beat Melbourne, who we beat all the time otherwise. I thought we won milestone games. So, no I didn't clap the team off for losing.
