Collingwood 2016 Pre-Season Discussion

ENTHUSIASTIC TV news hound Tom Browne thought he was on to an exclusive.

During one of his many stakeouts of the Olympic Park Sports Medicine clinic last week, he noticed young Magpie Jack Crisp darting in and out a couple of times.

Browne put it in the memory bank.

But when he saw the midfielder head in there the morning after Collingwood’s NAB Challenge match against Geelong, he thought he’d struck gold.

A fresh injury is big pre-season news, and as he was marshalling his cameraman into action, the Channel 7 man was soon alerted to an important fact.

Crisp was more than happy to chat about his revelation — his fiancee Mikayla works on reception at the clinic.
hahahahahhahahahahahhahaha

Well Reid must of had something cause he would of been training. If he doesnt play nab 3 as Balmey said i will be pretty annoyed.
It's been said in other threads already, but Buckley conceded he pulled up sore after the intraclub. Nothing significant showed up on scans, but being ultra cautious. Still aiming for NAB 3.

Anyone worried about Williams? Wasn't named in the players that should come back for this weekend in the article on Treloar on afl.com.au. Guess we wait until NAB 3 and then we can worry a bit more.

Yep, bloody hot. Everyone made an appearance except for Reid, Smith, Elliot and Frost.

I'd planned on going in tomorrow morning. Do you know roughly how long they were out on the park for tomorrow morning? I don't want to ride all the way there, only for them to not be training. I've done that 3 or 4 times now.

Nah, nothing on tomorrow. This page on the collingwood site gives a reasonable guide as to when the training is.

It says the next session is in Wagga but I'm sure today they mentioned a session on Thursday at 10.00. Perhaps that's for the boys who aren't making the trip. As it's not on the site go at your own risk.

Still even the Buckley quote is some cause for concern. "There was nothing on the scan we were overly concerned with". The counter to that statement is that there was something we are concerned about. We are concerned but not overly concerned. Its another bit of double speak and you hope its not masking a significant but not "overly concerning" concern

Agree, I thought the same thing about his comments. It was a roundabout way of saying something had actually happened, minor as it might be. Fingers crossed he can get out on the park for NAB 3 and the season proper.

My take is that the results of the scans, if on any other player, would be fine and not concerning.
Since it is Reidy, you're pretty much always at some level of concern, even just being in the building where they do the scans...

I have it on good authority that nothing on the scan of his leg showed up . However they did find another two legs growing inside his body that have perfect calf muscle structure with no scarring. So that is where the concern was.
