Collingwood are self destructing

I think Eddie is still a top notch president. He is proven, knows his business, and can bounce back. If the chips are down (as they are at Collingwood), you want Eddie in your corner. He operates better when his back is to the wall. Very shrewd operator.
Yep. Like he always does, he'll take it on the chins and carry on.

Collingwood stopped being Collingwood years ago- going along to games against them now is a little sad, the tribalism has really faded and honestly I feel it has corresponded with Ed's reign.

Two things need to change:
1. Footy needs to become more important than money at Pie land. Every Pie fan I've asked about Eddie says the same thing 'blahblahblah, but look at how rich we've become during his tenure'...they have lost sight of what their club exists for. (Richmond is sadly just beginning on this slippery path).

2. The Pies need to go home. Ed's 'concept club', aka the Cremorne/Jolimont/Richmond Magpies..no wonder the club has identity issues. Be proud to be Collingwood, be proud to be headquartered in Collingwood, and hurry up before Vic Park gets turned into apartments!

2010 has bought Ed time and he is living off that basically.

Without that flag he would of been gone 4-5 years ago.

Also on field they have only really fallen off the cliff since 2014, even then have been competitive until this year, but if they continue to fall away on field, crowds then sponsorship will dry up.

I'm not sure history supports that - the Collingwood jumper is the #1 advertising space in the country in terms of audience reach
Crowds will dip for sure like all team's do when they go poorly, but a drop for us is still big crowds by other teams standards
Pretty much the last thing I'm worried about

Yeah but the dip was pretty severe last night...1940 is a long time ago.

I say again, the Magpies need to go home to Collingwood, and make footy their number 1 preoccupation again.

Your comment about the Collingwood jumper and advertising space sums up perfectly why the tribe has lost its mojo.

Was the worst game I have seen this season last night. Finally turned it off half way through the 3rd qtr. Not much to look forward to really. Maybe Cox will be something. De goey seems alright.

Jeepers, good thing Collingwod won last night, imagine the comments had they not have more than doubled the score of their opposition?!?

My opinion is Buckley isn't the man to take Collingwood to their next flag. But he'll be given the benefit of the doubt given the injuries this year. Unless they have a horror run with injuries again next year he'll have to make finals or be extremely close to keep his job.
So basically the last 3 years will be repeated again

Very solid win considering it was looking like Freo were just starting to pull themselves together.
Freo are hopeless, they were bad before injuries and bad after - physically and mentally drained after years of a game plan designed to be as negative as possible, last night just proved it again

It was no great win, both teams are very very ordinary

Richo. Yes Lingy. Is the water warm enough? Yes Lingy. Shall we begin. Yes Lingy.

Collingwood in disarray? By some carlton supporter. What a surprise. Nice of you to care. We're in 12th place and you're still obsessing about us. You are the reason we will always be the biggest club in the nation. Thanks. The pies have a great team. They just have to get them on the park. Six new recruits next year: Elliot, Keefe, Ramsay, Kennedy, Swan & Scharenberg. This year is stuffed, but the future looks bright. I'd be more concerned about the tiges, kangas, lions, bombers, suns, demons, power.

I miss Maguire & Elliot on the footy show together. Great double act.
