Hang on, if pies are to be docked of their points they would fall down the ladder right?

Then what about draft picks?

They wont, that demand is far fetched

This all started about 15 years ago when Henry what's his name from south America woke up one day and was upset by a name he had been called years earlier so he said all the Collingwood football club and everyone involved with it are racist and ignore all the countless good Eddie McGuire had done he must pay for his feelings being hurt. So trying to do the right thing Eddie hired an academic who has been permanently offended to do a review: if ms permanently offended found everything was fine she would be out of a job, if she found the Pies were closeted racists she and people like the one now making the accusations would have a high paid cruisey jobs: guess how it worked out
Geez, I've read some shitty takes on this website, but you've outdone them all. Congratulations, I guess?

yeah, HS sensationalism

I haven't seen who was making the demand, the earlier media reports just mentioned it, but seeing this is not an on field matter sanctioning the club by stripping points wont happen. For that there would need to be an on field action, or event which has impacted on field matters such as draft tampering or salary cap breaches.

It's not just maguire, maguire is just one of them.

Maguire could do what he did because the club, board, staff allowed the casual racism to happen.

Mark my words, if collingwood is a sporting club in europe, it would have been shutdown in the early 2000s.
North would have been as well due to lack of finance

Same thing going on with Hawthorn FC. In the Pies scenario I have concerns with the motives of Mark Cleaver. Listening to him speak when he joined the club a year ago to his allegations today one might suggest he has done a massive turn around and that could be fueled by his own motives IMO.

He speaks in a manner that hints to a low tolerance for not getting his way IMO just my take.
Interesting video.

What I do not understand is how Collingwood have got themselves in this position. They were hired barely six months ago. For whatever reason it hasn't worked out. Organisations that care far less about their public appearance than Collingwood go to great lengths to handle these separations without ending up in court. Even the nut jobs, which I'm not saying this person even is.

The AFL has been urged to strip Collingwood of premiership points should explosive fresh racism allegations be proven in court.

The Magpies, including chief executive Craig Kelly, are facing damning claims that on Monday were filed in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

Mark Cleaver, the club's former head of First Nations strategy, is the sole applicant in the documents, while the Collingwood Football Club is the only respondent.

So their punishment would be losing points in a year they're not making finals anyway? And dropping down the ladder to give them better draft picks?

They should be stripped of draft picks, not premiership points, and have access to their NGA removed.

That will be Cleaver's wild idea, however I doubt the AFL would have the fortitude to do that

It sounds like Craig Kelly is a bit of an oaf if the allegations even approximate the truth.

One thing, however, stood out to me...I don't understand how offence was taken by Mark Cleaver if Kelly did indeed say something along the lines of "a real man's car", because apparently Cleaver is not a man, but non-binary. Wouldn't it have been more offensive if Kelly didn't acknowledge Cleaver's non-binary gender in this manner?

I echo the sentiment of some other posters above on the notion of innocent until proven guilty. In a society like ours, it is considered to be a lesser problem to let guilty people off than to convict someone who is innocent, and with sound reason.

Yes i was thinking about carltank's 2002 stuff

He's suing. He would be wanting a financial settlement.

What does the playing group have to do with this? It's absurd to even suggest it, let alone get excited by the idea 🥴

None of these allegations even occurred during the footy season & have absolutely nothing to do with the players & team.

It was a line thrown out by Cleaver's lawyer to grab the attention of people like yourself. Sucked in.
It's not about the playing group, it's about the club "bringing the game into disrepute".
