Most people would expect that surname to be spelt with an 'e' on the end, but this time that's not the case, and coming from the club itself such a mistake looks very amateurish. Even if the media folks think they have it right, checking with someone in the football department before sending it off would make sense, and might save someone a bit of embarrassment!
Maybe the club has been getting the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority to check stuff?

There's health and then there's health.... - still think Wilson could have left him out of it - also where's the hard evidence of Leppa creating problems? From what I can glean Fly and the players seem pretty positive about 2025

PS - what hasn't changed is that we are a political and news worthy (click creating) club.

I appreciate the complete ignorance of what I said and side-stepping to a completely different aspect of the issue in order to score yourself some cheap likes and make me look like an idiot.

Don't think I side stepped - reiterated my view re Browne stepping down

Please accept my apologies if a few words in a post made you look like an idiot

To be fair, she does have a point

Many here shared similar concerns.

Again, on the surface, it doesn't look great to have so much drastic change and rumours/reports of friction/unrest only a year after a Premiership.

I think you’re missing the point.

No Tigers-loving-hack-journo is entitled to say any bad words about the mighty Collingwood Football Club.

Only us passionate Collingwood supporters are allowed to do that.

It's his family's fault. They've shown some phonemic awareness by dropping the E at the end of their name, but if they want their name to be spelt phonetically, why is the **** part of their name coch.

I should apologise - going on to BigFooty following a particularly trying moment at work is a recipe for oversensitivity!

Clearly they’ve spent the past few weeks in media training and this speaking in front of the microphones was a milestone for them.

  • Making eye contact with the person asking the question
  • Brief pause after the question is asked to ensure that it is finished
  • Answering the question and saying no more.
  • Ditching the cliche’s “best foot froward”, etc.

What did I say a while back

Legendary Collingwood recruiter departs as shake-up continues

Collingwood’s shake-up of their football operation continues with renowned long-time recruiting boss Derek Hine parting ways with the club.
Hine and the Magpies have mutually agreed to part ways, as the club restructures its list management under new list boss Justin Leppitsch, according to two industry sources with knowledge of the situation who were not authorised to discuss the restructure.

Hine’s exit marks the end of an era at the Magpies, where he was either recruiting or list manager for 21 years. He was responsible for drafting or trading the bulk of two premiership teams, including club champions Scott Pendlebury and Steele Sidebottom, plus Jack Crisp, Jordan De Goey, Jeremy Howe, Brayden Maynard, Jamie Elliott and the vast majority of the 2010 premiership team, including several rookies.
Hine was also drove the Magpies’ unconventional gamble on American big man Mason Cox, who has carved a significant chapter in the code’s history with his 129-game career.

Collingwood and Hine were contacted for comment.
That there had been tensions between Hine and Leppitsch was well known in recruiting and player management circles, as the Magpies revamp their list management following the exit of football boss Graham Wright, who has crossed to Carlton to become that club’s next chief executive.
Hine had became head recruiter at Collingwood in 2004, taking over from Noel Judkins, having started in a player development role under Mick Malthouse and football boss Neil Balme. In 2005, he drafted Dale Thomas and Pendlebury with picks 2 and 5 in the national draft, selections that were instrumental in Collingwood’s run of eight consecutive finals appearances from 2006.
The Magpies have reached nine preliminary finals and 13 finals series in Hine’s time at the club.

I'm fearing the power that Leppa is apparently accumulating at the club, but to be honest, Derek Hine should have left the club about 10 years ago. Recruitment managers, like AFL coaches, have a finite lifespan. Since Jordan De Goey he failed to recruit anyone of note in the top 20 draft picks. Our recent premiership success is due to father - son picks and trades. Nathan Buckley should have snared at least one premiership at the club while Pendles and Sidey were there. Lousy draft picks scuttled Buckley's tenure as coach.

Is it a shake up or just internal personality clashes? Bolton and Hine not happy with Leppitch?
Oh Leppa is replacing Kelly is the big ogre now? 🙄

I love what's happened with the player's we've brought in, the draft picks, Matthew Boyd, the pick ups in the VFL...so something is working, imo.

Whether those people left for different opportunities, too long in the job, personality clashes..who cares? If it wasn't working, it's better for everyone to move on & start fresh.

I'm glad it's Leppa who has remained. Fly loves him & that's good enough for me.
