Wonder if anyone knows what happens with Draft value pick points once the draft starts, for example, are draft value pick points baselined at the start of the night or do they move in value as picks are assigned associated with a pick on the night
He may be athletic but he's no taller than Pendles
He's got an awesome vertical jump and seems to have long arms - I'd anticipate that he's able to play taller than his height

I supported Ginnivan over Macrae as a 1st possession mid not a defensive mid. His smarts and skills are vastly superior to Macrae’s plus they have similar athletic profiles. You overrate Macrae, IMO.
By first possession you would include reading the tap - and I don’t see that ability of Ginnivan being greater than Macrae.
If it was, then I think it would have been an improvement to Ginnivan’s skills, that would have seen him return to the seniors much sooner.

Yeah I'm not that concerned about it. JDG is there for a fair while and we've got a generational prodigy hopefully for the next dozen years. We won't need to go nuts in terms of acquisitions.
I think we need at least one more star in the middle
Not sure if the inside, outside or in/out

I think we need to remember that we need to replace who gets delisted. So if for example Kelly and or Wilson get delisted or traded (whatever) that’s a tall we need to replace them with. Probably not a great example as they played more of a hybrid player but you get what I mean. Can’t move someone on until you can replace them. Well you can but it’s not wise.

I think Ruscoe will be gone along with Wilson we may get a late pick and a bag of chips for Bianco but don’t hold your breath. Honestly I think it will be our quietest trade periods in a long time can’t see anything happening except for maybe the dogs player and the min picks in the draft. Unless something extraordinary happens like JUH suddenly desperately want to get to us because he can’t stand Bevo and thinks the club is going in the wrong direction.

Macrae must have been overrated by a lot of people, he went at 19 and was deemed the steal of the draft. Ginni was rookied at pick 13.
Perhaps Ginnivan was underrated? Considering the records of the two since entering the system I’d say both ratings were wrong Macrae marginally Ginnivan considerably. If it were re-done there’s every chance Ginnivan would go top 10.

Speaking of height Jen….. is it time to bring Ned Moyle home?

Good question. He was very impressive today. Can't see them letting him go, unless he wants more opportunities which I'm not sure we can offer atm.

I agree. Very impressive. I reckon they’d only let him go if he wanted back to Melbourne.

I’m unconvinced by Cameron and Cox at the moment so would be tempted to find opportunity. It would mean not renewing Beggy but Moyle rucking with Cameron ruck forward would be keeping an eye on the present and the future.

Would also give us scope to develop Oscar as a forward ruck which I’m very much interested in doing.

Much like I said to GC supporters about Witts when he went to GC, if we recruited Moyle he’d be every chance of being our starting ruck next year. He’s as good as Cameron already and will only get better.

Yeah I agree.

I still have the sense in Cameron and Cox that we’re playing 2 2nd rucks. It’d be an aggressive move but I’d absolutely be in favor of it.

Should've just kept Grundy then. Or we could probably get Grundy back for a 2nd

I don’t want Grundy though. I want an aggressive ruckman that can develop a long term partnership with the Daicos boys and that’s not going to cost $650K plus whatever we’re already paying.

Moyle is about setting us up for the future as well as being competitive now without setting our cap on fire again.

Last night it’s Crippa or Oliver can you ever see Macrae being able to go toe to toe with them? Short term I’d rather Crisp in that role or if we went to market someone like Sparrow who curbed Cripps late.

I dont think many of the current day mids, no matter how good they are can go with Cripps or Oliver, so to use that as a measurement of Macrae's ability is pretty pointless.
Macrae has been in the system for 3 years, whilst the hardened performers like Cripps and Oliver, have been in the system 10 and 8 years respectively, so of course Macrae, at this point of his career, isn't going to match them in performance, but he would sure learn alot going up against players of that ability, and at some point we need to give this guy the opportunity regularly at senior level. We have been building up his game for 3 years now, so lets give him a go at senior level from the get go in 2024.

Yea exactly. Lipinski can't go with Cripps or Oliver yet still gets a game as a mid for us.
