Hawks overlooked him once as well. At the time, Tambling was expected to go number 2. There was concern from Hawk fans when they picked Roughy ahead of him.
From what I remember Roughy was the safer bet at the time, although regarded as having a lower ceiling. Hawks found themselves in the amazing position of being able to take both the safe and risky/high reward options at once.

State: Victoria Country
State League Club: Gippsland Power
Community Club: Leongatha
Date of Birth: 20/12/05
Height: 200cm

Developed as a potential tall defender throughout the year but also played up forward and in the ruck. Still developing physically having grown 20cm in the past two years but has maintained his ability at ground level, where he is clean below the knees. Doesn’t turn 18 until late December making him only just eligible for this year’s Draft. Showed distinct promise in his 13 games for the Gippsland Power in the Coates Talent League as well as for Victoria Country, where he displayed aggression and intensity in the way he attacked the ball.

He’s only 17 and will turn 18 on 20th December. He’ll be a slow burner.
Sounds like a Hine wet dream.

Just on that, has Daniel Rich retired? If not I'm surprised no one went after him. They can't play both him and Coleman and if you want a kicker from defence there isn't much better kick around.

Great kick but treacle slow at the end. Lions became much better when he was pushed out Imo. I also don’t think he was a great 1 v 1 defender

He must have some serious skill if he was rated that highly and is a poor runner.

But they've played him as a small forward, so not going to slice through presses the way his brother does. With our transition strategy, I'd be interested in how keen on his brother we'd be
I’d almost take Blake just to help us lure Keidean later

Sounds like Krueger!

Those two really help set up their 2008 flag.

Interesting article - Schultz's manager said he had discussions with four or five other Vic clubs plus two non-Vic clubs during the season.

As I said overs! Why couldn’t we get overs for Henry and Ginivan, they were also contracted

And in breaking news Jack Henry thinking on taking his option for free agent to move to Collingwood in 2024
reason being to get away from his "suckling" brother, he needs space

I know he's contracted with the Dockers until 2026, but I wonder we should make a move at some point on the woefully under-utilised Will Brodie. Might bolster our powerful midfielder stocks as Mitchell winds down. Your thoughts?

Out of interest who is Clayton Oliver's manager?

Some of these player managers must think their only responsibility is signing contracts and that is it.

I don't think Ginnivans manager is doing him any favours. Should have told him to pull his head in ages ago.

Oliver is managed by Nick Gieshen.

I agree here but it's hard to control adults. Ginni clearly struggles at comprehending basic concepts like humility and professionalism. He annoyed Fly and Wrighty to the point they wanted him gone. Forget 2022 Anzac Day, that is his biggest achievement to date.

They must scream at the absolute idiocy of some players as it's costing them money in terms of deals both from club and outsiders.
