Membery would be a great free hit.

In seasons he's played more than 12 games (8), in 7 of those he's kicked 30+.

He's also got a 65% goal accuracy rate from his 293 goals.

For nothing, what am I missing here?
Yeah I wouldn’t mind him on the cheap. Solid for his age, strong in the air, would be a good 2nd or 3rd tall option up forward. Will be depth to start of with, but handy depth knowing Mihocek and McStay are prone to injury.

I agree I do think Perryman and Houston will make us better in the short to medium term. It is not the Houston acquisition in isolation it is the multiple 1st we keep trading out. Pick 10 which we would have had which could have been used to trade players in or one of Alix Tauru, Bo Allan, Jobe Shanahan. If we kept pick 13 maybe we could have the best available mid and KPP.

Also agree that McGuane could do what the Campo twins have done and go from top 10-15 to borderline rookie draft which is something to consider which may leave us light in the talented youth department come 2026.
If you had seen Tom play then you would know how ridiculous predicting him going in the rookie draft is. Next years draft is bad so getting a talent like Tom is a Godsend, it's just the truth.

Should we snatch back Liam McMahon in the rookie draft ahead of Carlton now that he’s matured? I’d love to do that if our pick is ahead of Carrrrlton.
Pretty sure someone is going to nab him. Saw something about him the other day. Can't remember which club though.

Might have to have me a read then. By the way, can’t remember the controversy of him leaving Crom. Any pointers you can give me?
No idea. Didn't even know who he was until I saw his name yesterday mentioned in the 3 way trade!

How good is trade period?

Perryman - check
Houston - check

Let’s keep the roll going. I think the following would be astute pickups:

Tomlinson: After losing Murphy we’re light on KPB depth. I also think he’s an upgrade on Frampton and likely plays ahead of him. Cheap.

Membrey: Only 30 and playing strong footy. Good for 30+ goals a year. Need another marking forward as Checkers/McStay never seem to get on the park together. UFA so free to a good home.

Whether or not we need more inside mid depth probably depends on if Perryman can go through there. Heard we were looking at Robertson so it’s clearly on our radar as an area of need. Perhaps we just back in Allan? V hard to tell from the witches hat game alone whether he’s ready for a weekly role….

We’re not done yet, here’s hoping this is one of those off-seasons we look back on as premiership making.

Don't ask me
What you know is true
Don't have to tell you
I love your precious heart
I
I was standing
You were there
Two worlds collided
And they could never tear us apart
We could live
For a thousand years
But if I hurt you
I'd make wine from your tears
I told you
That we could fly
'Cause we all have wings
But some of us don't know why
I was standing
You were there
Two worlds collided
And they could never ever tear us apart
I (don't ask me)
I was standing (you know it's true)
Mm, you were there (worlds collided)
Two worlds collided (we're shining through)
And they could never tear us apart
You (don't ask me)
You were standing (you know it's true)
I was there (worlds collided)
Two worlds collided (we're shining through)
And they could never tear us apart

I guess we tore them apart.

The midfield is a major issue. JDG cannot be relied upon whatsoever, and Mitchell is pretty much cooked. If he had the versatility to play other positions than pure mid, he might have more of a future into his mid 30's but he really doesn't. And with his incredibly poor and deteriorating athletic ability and avg kicking skills he basically needs to be racking up the pill at the level he was for the Hawks to not become a liability who gets dropped despite a fairly thin midfield.

Nick NEEDS to play alongside a midfielder who can reliably and consistently take on the heavy grunt work to allow him to shine the most, and we simply don't have that. An LDU type would be great, but prob a pipe dream, and also he seems to go through these odd spells where he coasts through games as though he can't be bothered playing, no idea if that's just a playing for Norf issue though.

Titch was running around on a busted foot, so deserves another fair go at it in 25 before we write him off.

I had a similar view of LDU, however, he knocked off Sheezel and Xerri in the BnF, so maybe a touch more consistent then he gets credit for. Would love him at the Pies in 26.

This year has seen the "gloves" come off with deals being derailed by clubs who were working in good faith and then pull the rug from under other clubs feet. I am thinking Hawks here and then of course Port. Geel's continued behaviour and attitude at the trade table now challenging the Bombers for being difficult to deal with. North courting Parker and then offering peanuts.....

Intersting behaviour.

What does this mean for the draft and then next year's trade table etc etc....?

I think clubs will play HARD ball with f/s and academy nominations and select based on merit forcing clubs to pay the right price for talent and thus eat into the stock pile of picks they have available, bringing forward the value of those picks in the 40's and 50's.

I thought you could have the number of picks which equals your list vacancies and if correct, this means Brisbane have 6 list spots available..?

So not us then?

DEVEN ROBERTSON

Eagles CEO Don Pyke said on Tuesday that his club will “continue to explore the possibility of bringing Deven into the club”. In this draft hand, the Eagles only have picks 12, 26 and 73 and the Lions want current picks for draft points. Makes a deal tricky but Robertson has been on the fringe for a couple of years.

VERDICT: IN LIMBO

Didn't he ask to come to us?

I wouldn’t stress too much about it

Mostly because the timing of us freeing up a shitload of cap space coincides with a bumper year for restricted free agents next year
I’m not convinced we’ll be big players in that space next year. I have a feeling that Houston and Perryman are going to offset those savings a fair bit. Will be happy to be wrong though.
