Sounds to me like they've signed Witt's papers and going with the giant Cox and Schazza is homeward bound so:

Witts to whoever for 1st round pick
Scharenberg for Aish (3 way deal)
Witts pick and 1st round 2016 for Treloar
1st round pick for Weideman

On: Weideman Aish Treloar
Off: Witts Scharenberg 1st round 2015 1st Round 2016
Please stop ;)

Seriously if he leaves due to "homesickness" that is the most pathetic reason to leave imo, Adelaide is a stones throw from Melb anyway and on top of this plenty of people work away from home and for a lot less then him.

I hope this is all BS cause wow we really fkd up that draft if he leaves.

The thing is Ted, is that Jamie Elliott is a gun forward, one of the best in the comp, and he doesn't have to be part of the deal. It will be something else, with the news on Scharenberg I'm a little burnt out by all this.

I don't disagree, Elliot's talent is obvious but I don't see him as a sacred cow. I'm making the comparison relative to Treloar's performances & development to date. Does he offer the prospect of having greater impact in versatility and creative play where we desperately need it, at the centre bounce and around the ground?
Clearly you don't get someone like Treloar without serious compromise.

Hopefully Scharenberg is more so his manager playing the game. All of a sudden the prospect of having our 2 top 10, 2013 picks not playing a senior game for the B&W looms large.

Well that was the Talk Pre-Draft and talk Lately about him.

Though nothing realiy much behind the Talks

drafted hawk seems to know the SA Boys so maybe he knows something

You might be surprised at how much a player like Witts is worth to the right club.

I am pretty sure Graham Wright made us an offer for Witts not so long ago.

He definitely would be a first round pick.

Remember last year when Broomhead still hadn't signed, and he was homesick, and if he hadn't signed already it meant he was definitely going home?

Good times...

I was just reading derrick hine said mason cox was ready to make his afl debut so if that's the case I could see them trading witts for a first round pick

I'm not all that fussed with him either, but Hine was keen on him and that's good enough for me. Could be another Sidey/ Dal santo type player in a different team

Dont get me wrong, he is a good player, but im not sure he is what we need, especially if we get treloar.[/QUOTE]
Same line of thought for me. Think we need more legspeed through the middle. He and sidey on the wings don't scream danger to me. What's his clearance work like? Can he play in the middle?

A pick in the teens was my thought at this stage of his career.

I would agree that clubs would give that for him based on what other ruckmen seem to fetch and the habit of trying to poach ruckmen before they become good. Having said that I don't really rate his performances as worthy of a first rounder. But clubs love to pay for potential over substance.

To me, if we are thinking of trading Witts despite the paper talk, the Swans is a very likely suitor. Pykes knee looks shot and they have Derrycx and young Nankervis as back ups.

He fits their trading embargo of a player on no more than $350,000. They'd have to trade someone out though to secure another 1st rounder as Mills will soak up both of their 1st 2 picks and possibly a bit of their 3rd.

It would be around the mark for Weideman too

Who do you want for Witts then it would be a mistake to trade him
