I don't think that's the issue UI. The pattern I'm seeing this offseason is that they are getting rid of the following;

A. One Dimensional players.
B. Poor Kicks

Cloke, Frost, Brown, Witts and Williams all fall into one of. It both of those categories.
I'd give Williams a one year deal but I personally don't like his chances.

Witts doesnt fall into that category at all. He falls into the "specialist ruck who isnt as good as Grundy" category. Too good and valuable to waste in the VFL.

Cloke Brown and Frost are one dimensional by definition. They are specialists. All teams have them, especially in key position.

Williams is potentially multidimensional and not a terrible kick when in form. He just had a bad year for whatever reason.

I think youre inventing trading strategies that arent neccessarily there.

How has Marley fallen so badly?

What are the chances of it being less than this year? I would highly doubt that.

True. Though, I read recently that clubs have been working on the assumption that it will increase. I'm assuming his point is not to go to much over the current cap, because we don't know what it will be yet.

Witts is one dimensional...can't play forward at all, unlike a lot of Ruckman.
The days are gone of players like Cloke, Brown and Frost. Don't get enough of the ball and are all shit kicks.
Williams is almost the worst kick in our team. Yes he can play a variety of roles but that's useless if you can't hit a target.

Same as Grundy then. Most specialist first rucks are pretty useless forward. Thats why most teams run a specialist first ruck and a mobile ruck-forward combination. And thats why Witts has to leave...because hes behind White and Cox for that second ruck position.

He needs to play at a club that has a vacancy for a first ruck. Its only about opportunity for him.

Cannot believe Witts, Cloke, Frost, Cloke, Dunn and maybe WHE will all be done on the last day of the trade period.

Time to shorten.. clubs just taking the piss.

Agree. Trade period is way too long

It would be a crime to de-list Williams yet keep Blair, Oxley, Sinclair, Thomas & Langdon. At his best, Williams is better than all of those guys. Why is everyone so cold on him? He's aggressive, fast and breaks the lines. He's the closest thing we have to JJ at W.Bulldogs, who everyone seems in love with. Williams mightn't have had a good year, but has shown enough times that his upside potential is substantial. If we show faith in him, it could really pay off. We can't afford to be giving away players with demonstrated upside for nothing in return.[/QUOTE
There is rumoured to be significant/multiple issues regarding Marley which allegedly caused a divide amongst the playing group
I agree that we has poor this year but has been much better previously. Clearly he was down on on form & confidence and perhaps outside distractions but it wasn't that long ago that he was being spoken of in AA calculations. I don't believe in abandoning someone whose peak level is so high. Perhaps a change of position would freshen him up. I'd give him a go on the wing, with Crisp pushed back onto a HBF. Regardless, he's too good to simply de-list.
It is indicated that Rockliff's team-mates have issues with him. It is rumoured that Marley's team-mates have issues with him. It is not all about form. Sometimes it is easier to trade out if possible
