They aren’t. My scenario requires a HB or HF rolling up to cover the mid we lost. How can that make our scenarios the same if your suggestions is a mid rolling back to HB? That would leave us a mid down on our current preferred setup. If a HF or HB went out I don’t think we’d be shuffling things to make room for Macrae…

It's not unusual for us to play a 5 man defence, we do it quite often as we like to have an extra around the clearances. Your scenario would be much more likely

Definitely get your angle, but a Port loss this week basically locks in top 2 if we were to win next week. I’m on the Blues bandwagon.

Fair enough. Strong preference for Port top 2 rather than Lions. Back us in to finish higher than Brisbane. If Power lose to Blues and then to us, Lions looking good for top 2, though hopefully Melbourne beat them.

I think McRae and his fellow coaches are totally focused on stability of line-up and getting as many games as possible into their preferred Finals team members. Wanting to maximise their team chemistry and trust to ensure that when the real pressure comes, they all know where each other will be and who is doing what.

I doubt niceties like getting games into Macrae or giving Ginni another chance is high in their thinking. Those guys will just have to bide their time, or leave.

If we're assuming Port top 2 then probably playing Brisbane in Melbourne is best or Dogs. Not too worried about that first game, will be a strong opponent either way.

If Port did drop and we played them first week, I think that's our easiest matchup. So that'd be a good outcome too.

Confident we can match anyone at the 'G, but obviously some teams can run us close or get up on a good day.

I would prefer if they beat Carlton but I think Carlton will well and truly end their streak

Not exactly a rest but close to it.

I've got no issue with him being the sub I've just got an issue with the sub being one of 4 emergencies unless the club takes it upon themselves to name the sub publicly.

Yeah I would. I wouldn't consider it dropping, but managing. Macrae needs game time, is a similar player, and Mitchell is already only going to play 1.5 quarters.

It's time to start consolidating the side for finals. Macrea won't be part of our finals campaign so why bring him in now. Titch gets beaten and bruised every week, he deserves to be managed. It also gives us a chance to see how our midfield goes without Titch, just in case he gets injured

Some massive melts from some supporters online about the Titch sub/no Fin decision.

Dunno how anyone is blind to this being a management decision. Dropping Titch for one game to bring in Fin, and then dropping Fin next week when Titch is ready to come back also isn't in Fly's MO.

Would have thought Fly has enough credits in the bank by now to back his selection calls.
