The year off they had would have only prelonged their careers and get over any long term/niggling injuries.
Just take no notice of some of our posters. It’s been 14 years since we’ve won a final and winning a couple of home & away games in a row (despite sitting a dismal 12th) brings out the USS (Ugly Supporter Syndrome) ...
Would you rather us keep losing then? no doubt the start of the season was poor but you cant tell me you are not happy with how the team has progressed over the last month and a bit.
I’m rapt we are winning some games now but my post has nothing to do with that.
Just some perspective from some would be appreciated. You don’t sit 2nd on the ladder this late into the season without being a very good side. I hate the “You’ve beaten nobody!” line - whether it’s about my club or others. The Pies 2018 season to date is one to be admired, particularly with their injuries and the pressure on the coach heading into the year. We could learn plenty from it.

We will need to play at a very good standard to get over the line vs Collingwood this week. Collingwood have been a much better side than us all year and even with their injuries I think its still a 50-50 game.
Sidebottom has a super record against us at the best of times and he's playing his 200th in probably the best season of his career. It will be a tough ask to stop him.

Don't get too excited mate, you're not over the line yet and at this rate you'll be lucky to have any players left come September.
Essendon have to win. If they can’t beat us now with our outs and their form, then they’re no hope for this year at all. I fear they’ll get a head start early and we’ll never pull them in. Happy to be wrong, but I’m not optimistic with Dunn and Treloar out.
What did I say that wasn't true and it was about one of the two teams in this thread. You have a warped idea of what derailing means.....
