Collingwood's decline

Buckley could do well to concentrate on being a coach rather than thinking he is still playing when every opportunity he gets he wants to join in and play kick to kick with the boys. At training, in the rooms before a game, out on the ground in the pre game warm up and when ever he can get his big snoz in there. Get back up in the coaches box you idiot and do what your paid to do. You have had your 15 minutes and that was good but not as good as you and Fat Head I mean ED actually think it was.

-we have a young team (our entire defense)
- to help out our young players our senior players must stand up , but many are not (aka-blair,harry(both the old and new last name),ball(his time has come)
-our coach has no game plan (three years is enough time for people to understand what you trying to do with the team, whereas as bucks as no foundation of any sort of plan)
-we have a very bad coaching group ,
-our coach bullshits at press conferences
-we have a good young list coming up-but we need a good coach to steer them through.

Collingwood was young when they won the flag. Had plenty of upside. Since then they have gradually fallen to being a mediocre side.

Of our best 25 or so players in 2010/2011, only 5 players are still onthe list and haven't missed at least half a season with injury. A genuine star in Pendles, a very good player in Sidebottom, a declining Swan and a couple of role players in Lumumba and Blair.

All 3 teams (Brisbane, Collingwood and Essendon) that brought in favourite sons as coaches without a proper apprenticeship have really suffered for their decisions.

Completely agree with this. Buckly (despite being the greatest player of all time) just isn't a people person - I don't think he gets the players on an emotional level. Hird, obvioulsy, a delusional meglomaniac - who now leads a twisted cult. Ironically Voss may have been the best and he got it in the neck.

2 flags in 56 years.

Looks like they might be lucky to get to 4 flags in 112 years.

Sydney have won 2 flags in 81 years.
St Kilda have won 1 flag in 117 years
Bulldogs have won 1 flag in 90 years
Fremantle have won no flags
Carlton have won no flags in 19 years
Essendon have won 1 flag in 21 years
Adelaide have won no flags in 16 years
Geelong have won 3 flags in 52 years
North have won no flags in 14 years
Port have won 1 flag in 18 years
Richmond have won no flags in 34 years
Melbourne have won no flags in 50 years

It really is easy to play this game

Amen, brother. We don't need a complete re-haul like, say, a carlton, but really need some kind of game plan.

Hird, Voss, Ratten and Buckley. The four horsemen of the apocalypse?

funny thing is buckley is least entitled to still have a job.

I know hird has the whole asada thing but in pure football terms he's been good for Essendon. voss sacking was a downright mistake and ratten wouldn't have been sacked if MM wasn't available...
