Lions got done (only slightly).

Effectively the same pick for a ruckman they've put 3 years into and has shown ability at senior level?

1st + 3rd or 4th rounders would've been fair.

Not in this draft, there is only 1 real standout who will certainly be A grade material, and thats cotchin.

How many of the dead "wood" ruckmen will Collingwood now de-list/try and trade?
Richards has already been told his contract won't be renewed, Bryan has another year on his contract and will be cannon-fodder in the Collingwood reserves team next year, hopefully alongside a 2007-draftee ruckman. :thumbsu:

Collingwood continue to trade wisely as much as it pains me to say.
Getting top 10 picks in a rich draft last year and getting a promising ruckman with a late first rounder in a weak draft this year is solid professional trading.
On a side note you will have to draft Polkinghorne and Burstin wont you:)

Nope, he only got a 1 year deal
I call BS, Murray.

An offer of 1 year was the reason he left Carlton, I'm very confident (albeit disappointed ;)) that we gave him the 2 years he wanted.

Bingo, Sampler. 2 year contract so he will not be delisted. Also he will be kept for another year to see if he can improve any further with a full, uninterrupted pre-season. I still think this bloke could be something if fully fit and focused.

thats the feeling i have expecially after seeing the hurt on his face when he missed against sydney in the elimination final, the happiness for his contribution and teh fact i saw he walk out crying from our rooms after apoligising to ll the players for being beaten by ottens against geelong and vowing to be a force next season.
