Given North aren't going to be anywhere near the 8 for the foreseeable future it's not something the Hawks need worry about.

I dunno, our draw for 2010 is pretty soft, if there isn't a huge learning curve required for the Scott gameplan, our younger players continue to develop well and we have a good run with injuries then it is not out of the question.

We had a pretty dirty year this year and were only 3 games out of the 8.

I've read the entire thread and alot of Hawthorn, Geelong and Collingwood supporters have let their clubs down badly.

Why do Hawthorn supporters insist on biting back?

Just let the bagging slide through to the keeper. Don't give the negative comments any oxygen, but alot of Hawthorn supporters cannot resist giving it back, which continues to lower our reputation on BigFooty.

Whilst the opening poster may have gone a little overboard with the praise lavished on the Hawks, the reaction from Geelong supporters has been bewildering to say the least.

There have been 15 individual Geelong supporters contribute to the thread, and every single one has been derogatory in some form. Contrast that with Essendon supporters who have had a running battle with Hawks supporters since September have been overwhelmingly praiseworthy in what the Hawks have accomplished since 1996. And what is it with some Collingwood supporters fixation with Hawthorn and pets.

Finally, I'm proud of where my club is at. I spent plenty of days at the MCG in 2004-5 looking at 75,000-80,000 empty seats and wondering where the hell is this club going. I never thought I'd ever see the day when 60,000 would watch the Hawks play a game at the MCG.

Fast forward five years, not only are we getting regular crowds over 60,000, but more than 50% of those are Hawthorn supporters. Plus we've added to the trophy cabinet.

Nothing can take away what this club has given me. I haven't even reached 40, but I've been around to see 9 Premierships. Not many people around here can boast a Premiership strike rate like that.

I can congratulate my Club for what they have given me, and hope supporters from other clubs can experience what I have in the near future.

I'm not naive, but thanks. Threads like this are reasonable in the off-season, its a good news story about a club that was battling 13 years ago and would give hope to supporters of other battling clubs.

It would of stayed that way too had folks like yourself not derailed it by killing a few minutes.

However, we have won 6 flags since 1983, compared to North 2 (and Geelong 2) so I think I'd rather be us than them (or you).

I was on the Hawthorn board the other day on the thread about Jesse Smith and one of their posters with a new join date asked if anyone had actually seen Jesse play a good game.

Given Jesse was BOG in the 2007 semi final, I suspect this tells you loads about when that poster discovered his love for the Dawks.

SLF, you spent the better part of two years attacking Hawthorn with everything you had in Bay 13, before we won the flag and took a bit of the wind out of your sails. But I'll admit, you're a witty bloke, and it beat the hell out of reading Geelong_Crazy26 and Poida Cat's pathetic trolling.

You then seem to spend a bit of time on the Hawthorn board, especially with the JWS issue, and demand that you are treated with some respect, because as you say "its not the Bay". We usually do so, and have a good chat.

So for you to then take selective quotes from noobs on our board, and use them to attack us on the main board seems a bit rich.

You're either against us (which I'd assume), or there's maybe something to be said for "what's said on a board, stays on a board" to mutilate a cliche a bit.
